Is that possible? Because the thing is I have my xbox in the living room but the router I would like to connect it to is in my room and I don't feel like having cables all over the house. So can I use the cable that came with the xbox and connect it to my laptop, wich then connects to the internet via wireless and shares the connection with thhe xbox? This will probably not provide the best connection but I only want to download demos and stuff.
I would buy the wireless adapter but I'm kinda short on cash, wich brings me to another question. I have had a usb wireless lan adapter thingy for awhile adn its probably worth like 50€ so I would like to use it for something. So, can I use it with the xbox via some weird way, I have ofcourse already tried connecting it to the 360 but it didn't work
Oh, I use static IP adresses in my wireless network so no DHCP.

Yes that should work fine, it's how I have mine networked pretty much, just use the network wizard to set it up on the PC end and on the Xbox end use automatic configuration and it should find the settings it needs. On mine I have a 10m cable connecting my PC to Cable modem and then a 15m cable connecting my Xbox to my PC's 2nd network card.
