Okay, i´m begging on my damn knees here..

I can´t connect to my Xbox, not even ping it. Times out all the time.
It has worked countless times before, but not now! WHY!?

It´s a Xbox with a DuoX2, EvoX dash, connected to PC with a switch inbetween and regular network cables (not crossover).
Xbox IP - 192.168.0.90
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1

Static IP enabled, FTP too and so on..

PC ip - 192.168.0.56
Same subnet mask and gateway.

Read many threads about it, and i can´t for my fucking life figure out whats wrong. It´s not the cables, i´ve had this setup before, and ive tried switching out both cables for another one ( a new one)

have you tried another dash ?

plus do the usual things..

delete e:\cache .. can cause errors

make sure clock on the xbox is set (i can't think of a reason why that may affect an ftp connection, but why not check)

I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Deleted Cache, clock was set to 2004-something, so didn´t bother with that.. (usually problems occur when it´s 2800-something..)

Tried XBMC, same FTP-settings..

Still no go Sad

If the clock is set to 2004 then thats means the clock isn't set (its a default value supplied by the bios so the xbox can boot with the clock not set and running) as the xbox can't keep the clock set for more than few hours while not plugged in.... having the clock not set can make the xbox do strange things as anything requiring timing can't be done, for instance GTA Vice City will crash with the clock not set, on timed missions ect.

this probably isn't the problem but i think it's worth a try.

Well it wasn´t the clock either.
I reinstalled my NIC´s, and restarted the switch.. and it worked! Very Happy

Now I have the same problem i had earlier, my internet connection dies as soon as i activate the NIC connected to the xbox. As soon as i disable it, my internet works fine..

sounds like spyware problem.

re-install windows and try again.

had the internet/nic/xbox problem before after my isp (telewest) got me to reset my ip settings to solve another issue....when nic for xbox link was enabled no internet....disabled = internet...
the solution (after hours of no help from tw) - run the xp network wizard - it seems that when my nic for the xbox link was enabled, xp was trying to connect to net through that....running network wizard again & selecting my modem connection for net & selecting ics host = success...
hope this helps
