Recommended Requirements:

I checked and there are some patches out for the game. Are you playing the retail (unpatched) version ? If yes, install the latest patch.

You can use a mini image (gcw). Though I checked the 1.02 and 1.03 patch changelogs and I think there are only multiplayer fixes, not sure, lol.

You mount the mini-image in Daemon tools, instead of the game image

Check out gamecopyworld. After you get the mini image, apply the patches to the game (you may have to restore the original executable file)

EDIT:

Since you can get to the game menu, I trust you have set the options to the lowest possible settings, considering your graphics card is ancient ... Also make sure your soundcard drivers are up to date, you never know.

Oh, and since I'm giving you false hopes of getting the game to work, make sure the hardware acceleration sliders are all set to the full setting in dxdiag. (start-run-dxdiag)
Also temporarily disable your antivirus/firewall.

Come to think of it, why don't you download DirectX February 2007 redistributable while you're at it?

1) Does mini image has something with cue/bin and mds/mdf?
2) The settings are at lowest.
3) Sound works without drivers on Win XP
4) I think that hardware acceleration sliders are OK
5) I have DirectX9c. What is "DirectX February 2007 redistributable"?

1) Mini images are usually in mds/mdf format.

3) Install latest XP drivers from manufacturer's website , windows drivers are often problematic.

5) Google for it and install it. It is the latest version of DirectX.

You don't have to make your own mini image or convert anything (besides, it's not always easy)

You download them (gamecopyworld,megagames)

Note that mini images don't always have to be mdf format. It depends on the protection.

What are other common formats for mini images except mds/mdf?

Mini images are like full cd or dvd images, but only with some essential data in it (just enough to pass the protection checks). So they can theoretically be in any image format, but since they are mostly used for fooling dvd protections, mdf format is requied/better.

But they contain two files lke mds/mdf and bin/cue right?

I've found game in mds/mdf but there is no seeders.

mds and mdf are both required
bin/cue also go hand in hand (though from personal experience sometimes the cue was missing,I had to create it using cd mage I believe)

I don't understand what you want to know ... if there are no seeders in a torrent I screw it and start searching in about 10 of the biggest torrent sites, 99% of the time I find what I want. And of course I never start downloading if there are no seeders !

Mini image can't exist with single file images like iso or nrg?

It is possible to mount bin without cue.

I've searched 7 torrent sites which I consider as the best. Only ISO version has seeders.

Please don't tell me you're searching for the mini image in torrent sites! It's usually smaller than 1mb! Go to the sites I've mentioned in my previous posts.

I think I've found an mini image. Mds has about 0.5 kB and mdf has about 1.8 MB. So, what should I do with that now? Game does not require CD to run.

You install the game from the image you d/l the original one, you had all the problems with

the mini-image is basically a workaround to fool the protection into thinking you have the original shop bought dvd in the drive.. you DO NOT install the game from the mini-image

If you re-read this thread you will see you have all the info you could possibly need.

Ok, I should run the game from mini image? But, the problem is that game does not require CD to play. The instalation is full. What should I do in this case?
