4 was recently cracked... But afaik the trial is good for a month.
It's really easy to use it. Just drop the MKV(s) in the source, select the target format, either choose advanced settings or leave default and click encode.

I just tried it and like it but should it be taking so long to complete like an hour and a half for a source file thats only 550MB. I have a pretty decent rig.
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
1 Gig of Ram
250 Gig HDD
Saphire ATI x1600 pro 256MB AGP

Well, encoding takes time even on the newest CPUs... It depends on the target format, the quality chosen, number of passes, etc... I usually put my encodings to finish during the night.

Lol, yeah, a great thing... Too bad TMPGenc's batches are not as robust as other programs, but it's OK.

Not as robust in what way? I always thought batch encoding in TMPGenc was great. You can set the task priority and even the number of movies that should be encoded simultaneously, etc, and that's only in 3.x.

Well, yeah I guess it's OK... I don't know, it just feels not as good as TMPGenc itself. I have these feelings sometimes, and that's how I feel, lol. NVM me.
BTW, get TMPGenc 4XP, it's much better than 3.

Try encode360. That's what I use.

Looks interesting, especially if they support x64, which they seem to do in near future.
