Actually there is. Grisoft have a software package named "AVG Anti-Virus plus Firewall". It does exactly what is says on the box Smile

Since x64 XP first appeared it's the only protection software I've used, because until recently, it was the only 64-bit solution available.

It's compatible with all versions of Windows, except for Server editions and crappy Vista Smile

you are stupid beyond comprehension

NOD32 is the best antivirus around, but AVG and other software can do the job nicely, as long as you have some common sense and you're not exposed to every new virus/malware there is out there.

EDIT: And not everyone wants to use a cracked antivirus product

This is probably "Antivir/Firewall" thread nr.127 or something...oh well.
I have a Router so no FW (just XPs own) NOD32 and I also run Ad-Aware SE Pro from time to time.

if you have common sense and you don't fuck around you don't need any AV software at all, idiot.

and what is the purpose of keeping an AV software if you KNOW it's crappy and can't defend your PC?! that is THE most stupid thing to do.

Didn't say it's crappy, learn proper english. I said it gets the job done. AVG is, free, non-intrusive and easier to handle. Now please shove it.

ZA is shit! It swallows resources like a hungry porn queen! At high datarates, it really hits performance noticeably (and that's on a A64 4000+, so it's not that bad of a CPU). XP's is fine.

About AV, IF you really want an AV that bad, get Nod32.

I´m gonna say what I always say in threads like this:

Nod32.

My no.1 choice when it comes to AV, never failed me. Installed it on other peoples PC´s aswell, and they haven´t complained.

And i have tried Bitdefender, ZA, Norton and the likes. I dont even use a FW.

As long as NOD32 offers free updates to the 'released' versions - Ill go with that. Only AV app I could find that did that was symantec corporate. Ill gladly switch to NOD32 though if it dont expire/no updates.

**Update- NOD32 works great! Much less cpu consumption than symantec. Thanks for that recommendation!
