Heh yah I tried all that, doesn't seem to want to work... is there some kind of developer or build tools that need to be installed up in here?
I know on Ubuntu I had to apt-get install <something or other, i forget>

Well, Dark Alex packages the source to popstation on each firmware release.
I want to build popstation for Mac OSX, other people did it before, but I don't feel like waiting so I went to do it myself...
And then I realized I had no idea what I was doing on Mac OSX...

Ahhh! Right! You need to get a compiler and use that to compile the source.. The instructions above are for installable source packages, which this is not. I couldn't say what you require to compile the source, you need a compiler for the specific language the program is written in.
