But where's the actual love? Tenderness? That family's all about money, and the girl, even though being a spoiled bitch, actually wanted something concrete. Something that shows that she's not just some rich whore from a family that cares only about money. She wanted her father to show that he actually understands her. That he loves her. And what does he do?

There's some sense with what you say, but it's quite too speculative.
Her brother and that other chick seems to be quite normal and also thought that the present was perfectly okay. The mother have also seemed to be pretty pissed and I guess they know what they are talking about.
Usually, we men, don't care about colors of things, we just want things to be practical and cool. Most women tend to care about colors and these minor things that are not important at all. So I still she's just a spoiled stupid girl.
Mark - Ah I see. Well then it just seems that your father really likes his car. What car is it?

To me it looks like the family is distant. They may have dinners together. They're all showered with gifts. But they're distant. Psychologically. Mentally. Emotionally. Money talks in that family. It's all that's important. Money = Love.
Her friend is her friend because she has money. I bet you 10$ that her friend slept with her boyfriend on several occasions and vice versa. And they had several hair pulling fights but they’ve remained friends.
To her the car didn't matter. You can see that. It’s the colour that caught her eye. She didn't look at anything else. Not the nice form. Not the pretty hubcaps. Nothing. It was the colour. She wanted blue. like i said, she'd be happy with a Mercedes as long as it was blue. 
I'm quite sure if he got a mercedes and not this car (no matter if the mercedes was made of gold, but painted blue) she'd still get angry.
She is spoiled. But seriously. A caring father would remember the colour of the car his daughter would want. This to me is just awful!
And yet she's the bad girl because she gets bitchy. Fuck.

The best gift a child can get is love, the father doesn't understand this. He's losing his family because he cares more about his work and tries to compensate love by buying expensive gifts. He's so distant from his daughter that he knows nothing about her.

The thing is you know nothing about this, about her father or her. When buying a car it aint always possible to get the things you want in it or colour etc. Buying a new car will get you what you want but new cars take times to build so buying a new one may take months, and since she's maybe to stupid to realise that she told her parents what she wanted maybe a couple weeks ahead so they had no time buying blue, so instead they bought the next best thing, another colour but still a new good car.
So pls dont say here father dont know what colour she wanted or that she doesnt know here daughter. If you listen to what he says he even says it when she first says its red.
So only thing you can be proud of being right on is that she's a spoiled brat.
