Hi,

i just bought a PS2 and now I am wondering which Modchip to get. I have never been into console gaming - just bought the ps2 because we play singstar from time to time - so i need something that is easy to use.

The model of the PS2 is SCPH 50004 Silver

I could also use a tip for a good website in germany where you can let someone mod the ps2 for you.

Hope this is the wright forum for this question.

Depends on if you're skilled in soldering or not. I like the DMS 4 myself.

to be honest i am really, really unskilled.
Thats why I am not planning to do it myself.

Thought about sending it in to let someone else do it. Or i might ask someone who is more skilled to do it.

Only console i might consider buying if the games get cracked is Wii

but that gets me far away from this topic

Highstuff, can I play almost the entire Final Fantasy set on the X360? No. The PS3 isn't even out here until march. The mod chips for the older consoles work 100% where as I can only play games on those two other consoles. I consider my Xecuter 3 chipped Xbox with 300Gb hdd for superior to the unchipped and even firmware hacked Xbox 360.

Plus these loads of games out for the two consoles I have. I would rather wait until theres decent mod chips out for the three newer consoles and have a decent gaming experience and by waiting I'll get the consoles cheaper. Also the later build models of consoles tend to be of higher quality.

The Game. I would most certainly go for the DMS4:

Don't be silly, what's a second hand PS2 worth? Not worth selling that's for sure.

I've got one myself which I'd like to get modded but my skills aren't up to it, anyone any idea where I'd find a modder in West Yorks?

I think Xbox scene has a forum for people offering their services.

So does the xecuter forums if i remember correctly.

as a huge x3 modded xbox fanatic myself, i have to say taht it rocks when a large hdd is installed. but do not forget that the current-gen 360 is perfectly hacked and allows us to play with our backups on live. this is the gaming experience and cant be beaten by a modded xbox even with the almighty xbmc installed.

im also a believer that the current gen 360 will allow homebrew soon. we just have to wait a lil bit. in the meantime we kick some ass on live Wink

BTW: zelda on ngc also rocks my life atm Wink

BTW2: to stay on topic, mi is the chip to choose for ps2. and to save your ps2's life i would opt for the hdd mod.
