I will refresh my comp with new VGA in a couple of days...now which one sholud i get:

I was looking at:

Nvidia GeForce 7600GT Golden Sample from Gainward,256MB DDR3,256bit or
Nvidia GeForce 7800GS also from Gainward,256MB DDR3,256bit

.....both for AGP.

I read some reviews and they say that 7600GT beats 7800GS in almost every way in tests and that people should buy 7600GT and save money because 7800GS its not better, maybe a little.

Please, tell me what do u think? Thx Razz

And you have to reply to every single one of them

Anyways. Go with the reviews and get 7600GT.

Yeah, get a good 7600GT and overclock it well beyond 7800GS.

I'm going to upgrade from my 6800GT AGP to a X1950PRO AGP, and I would recommend that card for you to, X1950PRO is the absolute best AGP card on the market right now.

Yes, Unfortunately you won't be able to get your hands on that card for another century, besides the fact that the price alone justifies tossing your AGP rig out the window and upgrading to PCI-E.

He might have to buy a new chip, if he has a Socket 478 P4 for example, it may prove rather hard to get a board that has a PCI-E slot and s478. Regarding the original question, 7600 GT is superior so I'd get that card.

Many stores here in Sweden got the card , so it's easy to get. If I would upgrade to PCI-E it would cost alot more money, because then I would have to buy new motherboard, cpu and ram.

So buying a X1950Pro is the best option for me!

Yeah thats what im saying, your paying a premium for a graphics card using an aging interface. Not only is the hardware around the video card a huge bottleneck as it is with that card but your in my eyes making no progress.

The benchmarks show it scoring 6000 in 3Dmark05, thats what my X850XT-PE scored with my AGP rig, so what your paying a fortune for is a X850XT + SM3 + 5-10% performance increase.

All im suggesting is save up your money and ditch the entire AGP rig instead of trying to milk it as long as you can with a single component that keeps getting upgraded. Also it was my misunderstanding that your from Sweden so availability and pricing is probably much different then here in the states.

I bought a X1950Pro AGP couple days ago and it rocks,cheaper than 7800GS and much better,great deal....i still have a decent machine (P4 3 Ghz,2Gb Ram,Seagate 320Gb 16Mb,Creative X-Fi...) so it was a huge leap from my good old x800Pro...

Ati Radeon X1950Pro is a great card....now we wait for Nvidia with 7950GS maybe?! Smile

Your wrong, Gecube X1950Pro 256Mb is scoring about 7500 points in 3Dmark05 and that's when the card is not overclocked. My computer will last 1-2 years longer with this card.

Ok cool, but with the average garbage S478 Northwood most AGP users have, No. I was running a P4 506 OC'd to 3.8Ghz with my 1900XT and it had me so bottlenecked that my 05 score was 6900 not to mention how low the minimum framterate was in a lot of games.

Im not arguing with you, grab your card. Have fun and play some games. Laughing
