I know there are quite a few people yearning for a pirate-themed RPG and the Raven's Cry remake didn't quench the thirst of many of you, and it cannot anymore as it was removed from Steam (supposedly due to fake reviews from the publisher/developers).
You won't have to wait much longer because the Russian game Sea Dogs: To Each His Own and its DLC will be released in English in early February. The game was originally released in 2012 and was very well received by reviewers and the public.
Link to the announcement: http://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791433818269/announcements/detail/65668531643437205
The developers already put up an English forum for the game so you can ask any questions you have in there.
They're aiming for a February 5 release with a price tag of $15 USD and a launch discount.
There is no English store page right now, but you can have a look at the screenshots in the game's hub: http://steamcommunity.com/app/223330/screenshots/
And yes, the game does look dated, but it's from 2012.

Loved the original Seadogs.
Why, oh why can none make a proper new gen, free roam pirate game full of Powder, blood, drama and romance

Aye aye, +1 to both. Personally I've always thought this would be a perfect setting for a triple-A Rockstar game for example, especially after seeing GTA V's water physics..but yeah, it's only a dream.

It's like the red pill vs blue pill dilemma. On one hand you have the manly face with mustache, on the other one you have dem saucy nipples.
I suggest the good ol' bag and shag

It's called Pirate's Odyssey...And that had a rather troubled development and not only. The engine should be the same used in the Age of Pirates: City of Abandoned Ships.
The russians weren't very impressed with it, either.

Heh. One guy in Germany was thrown in jail because he had a "to each his own" tattoo on his back.

Tried it but the translation leaves ALOT to be wished for tbh.. its google translate quality at times, and somewhat incoherent at best.
Think I had a bug at the start too, maybe someone can confirm as I have no cash to get a crew after getting a ship and seemingly no more oppertunities(already sold the earrings) to get any more(besides the fort i havent been there)? already sold a ton of my ammo and powder but to no avail.
Also PSA in the cave where you rescue the farmers daughter, press enter to bring up context action menu(ala arma) and select open. Just doing the use/lmb open action did not do anything for me.
Really trying to like this and I would have forgiven a ton bug wise, but the translation just fails to bring about any sense of period setting I swear at times its as if this was translated by monkeys with no sense of either language. They should have had this vetted by a native speaker who could have made some sense of the translations, this is just a pure shame if you ask me.

That is a bummer, maybe a fan sub will get made or something and sent to the devs to fix these issues.

I hope so. I had almost gotten it on steam(Wouldnt have been a big deal since refund but still) since the review are mostly positive and dont really mention it. Yet I cant see how anyone could overlook the horrible transalations.

I tried but alas, in a text heavy game about a period setting, having words like dude and other totally inappropriate words come up more often than context proper words, it just ruins the experience. Ill give it another whirl tonight see if its any better out of the first town, but I doubt it.
Its a shame though, I dont remember sea dogs and potc being this badly translated at the time.
