How come it takes up that much space? With the way it looks, the could have used almost only solid colors through the game

They have loads of rendered videos in it, almost 80% of the data is HD renders.
The game might be long and a great game in its genre but BOY does it look poor. Still it puts the 360 in a good light over in Japan so its all worth it.
When they had some early trailers I was hoping it would look like that in real time but instead they spent no time on the engine and millions on renders.

Just stuck in the first disc for a quick peek and it plays like most turn based RPGs. It looks like a cartoon all high res silky smooth and well animated. There are a lot of HD rendered video sequences which blend seamlessly with the game engine (apart from the announcer saying "playable" all the time). As its an RPG for all ages, it has furigana so its that little bit more understandable to any Japanese learners out there.

Becasue changing the disk every 20 to 40 hours is such a chore.
