Windows will automatically default an 'nfo' file as a system file - although ive never seen the extension used other than in nfo's for releases.. but as someone said no need for an nfo viewer.. just set notepad as the defualt viewer for nfo files.

Although theres no harm having an external prog to open them. up to you really mate Razz

BTW for a great little prog that will unpack all archives, read anything etc and can be adjusted to suit you, try

http://www.ghisler.com/

windows commander is a great little prog.. like dir opus on the Amiga (if anyone remembers that? ) Laughing

obviously Notepad and setting font to Terminal works, but nfo's are designed as white (or colour) on a black background.

im sorry, but i appreciate ASCii art having first hand experience. bloody phillistines.

hmm, well obviously if you were to change the font in notepad into terminal then damn nfo viewer is pointless...

but tbh, it depends whether you are looking at OS, BLOCK or NS ASCii. OS is viewed in old amiga format in which the fonts have smaller heights and less line spacing.
