I don't know if you guys know of this, but there is a software called xbconnect it is free to download, you install it on your PC then stream it to your xbox 360, this is a free online xbox 360 service, the software is compatible with PS2 online service as well. There is a basic version totally free for as long as you want, and a $15 pro version. It works with every single game that has been released that has multi link and xbox live mode. You can use headset, microphones. It's just like xbox live, except none of the xbox live features, it's purely just for online gaming and chatting with people. It's totally legit and you won't be banned or detected by microsoft and you can use game backups on it, it was designed for the backup community.
And there are already thousands of players on there, totally cool.

I guess its good if you dont have an Xbox Live Gold account.

I have tried Xbconnect before but could never get it to work. I always used one called X-Link to play Halo2 online on Xbox1 Very Happy

All it does it simulate a lan for the xbox so it thinks you got a system link up when it's actually going through the internet, so it makes sense that it works fine for the 360 as well.

I played some Halo 2 with that on the old xbox and it was pretty laggy most of the time because the servers have to be hosted by people instead of the xbox live network, so they need a good connection, and good upload speeds are kinda rare these days.
Plus for some games it seems the lag compensation and netcode is configured differently for system link games as if you actually do play system link you'll have a nice 100mbit LAN connection with a ping of 5, so you can cause all the network traffic you want.

Still, it's an OK alternative if you're banned from live and just absolutely have to play online, or you just don't want to pay.
Probably better on the 360 than on the old xbox anyway, as you were able to cheat with the xbox games which is not possible (yet) with 360 backups.

Anyway, I'll stick to Live until I'm banned, hundreds of games are just better than 5 or 6 that lag most of the time.

First off, this only works for games with System Link. Secondly, it doesn't work with 360 games because Microsoft introduced a ping limit. You must have a connection with a ping lower than 50. No one has that good of a connection. Third, as Headshot mentioned, Xlink Kai Evo 7 is a much better program. You can get it here... www.teamxlink.co.uk

XBConnect doesn't even work on all computers. It's really a piece of shit.

Surray, give Kai a shot and you'll love it. There's no lag involved unless you have a shitty connection.

Too bad they didnt introduce a ping limit to xbox live as well. I hate playing 200ms ping with overseas hosts, or even australia or japan hosts! ARGH

Currently these 7 games are supported on xbconnect

Call of Duty 3
Farcry Instincts Predator (360)
Perfect Dark Zero
Project Gotham Racing 3
Saints Row
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Quake 4

Guys what i would like to know is how many games does the xbox 360 have that support online mode?

I assume the 7 games listed above are the only LAN link games for the xbox 360, is that right?
