I fixed my overheating video card. I re-pasted the GPU, ran Tomb Raider in directx 9 (registry fix), lowered the settings, used Nvidia Inspector (Frame Limiter) 40 FPS....but it only helped a bit. The temps would always creep back up 75-95 degrees.

The fix was a new card....EVGA GTX 660 2GB....I can now run my Tomb Raider on "High" in Directx 11 and the temps are 24-45 dgrees....What a fucking difference.

Even that POS Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army was killing my old card....CODBOs and Rage never were very taxing on the card. But I found as the newer games came out Crysis 3, my temps kept creeping up!!

Lesson Learned...thanks "trollpower" and sausje for your help and advice!!

Very Happy good fix, but only if you don't need to worry about money Razz

I didn't mind the 75-85....but as time went by the temps really started increasing 85-100 to 107...then my fan would go crazy!! I even put new thermal paste on the card and it only helped a bit!! Had to buy new.
