I installed fresh copy of windows, and I have NFSC installed on another disc. It runs fine but I can't load my old user I had on other OS. I copied NFS Carbon files from my old documents to my new, but it doesn't work. Do I have to copy sth else or what? Confused

every save has it's own key if u wanna try other ppls save u have to inject that key in your regestry otherwise it won't work
u have to inject in to your regestry key that u entered when u first installed the game,u can check your key by opening your save profile with notepad,copy it & create .reg file with this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Need for Speed Carbon\ergc]
@="insert your key here"

remember don't mess with your save file,this means after u opened it if u accidently changed anything do not save it,otherwise it will be corrupt

another idiotic maneuver from ea to prevent saves sharing between ppl,i hope who ever implemented this bs lose his job & never finds any again Mad

i dont trust EA there was a time i did and that was decades ago! their nfs carbon demo has malware and triggers the BLASTER WORM!. it destroyed my pc only a demo destroyed my pc, havent you wondered how come the demo install is so pathetic? there u go! its EA!.

i think someone got a bit paranoid,didn't had any malware,worms or anything close to it not with demo nor with full,maybe u were getting some gay porn pop up from somewhere else,that explains Razz

I don't get it when I open my save profile it gives me bunc of strange signs(I know that it has to). Do I have to copy that text to the new reg key or what?

look on the signs in the top, u should be able to notice 20-digit-length part of it... this is your s/n if you ddled razor version 1911 should be last four the number

BTW wouldn't it be easier to use same key installing game 2nd time. Does game recognize it then and switch on my save ?? Smile

i gave the easiest way if u still know with wich key u installed be my guest,reinstall or try this Savegame validator
honestly i dunno why i'm even tryin Rolling Eyes

There's a tool out now its called: Savegame Validator
Here: http://www.nfsplanet.com/nfsc_files.php?lang=eng

The savegames in Need for Speed Carbon are coupled with the CD-Key of the installed game. With this tool you can patch foreign savegames, so that you can use it on your PC with your copy of NFS Carbon.
