I'm scared to death.

They are talking about all these crazy features, a major graphics boost, and 100 players per server.

No way in hell this is gonna' run all that great....

Here's hoping though. :\

You're right, but by the time this game come out (Let's say Q2 2005) X800XT, 6800Ultra and Athlon64 will pretty be the standard for games...
Even the "other next gen" cards will be released Shocked

I dont see any problems with that... Joint Operations, wich is slated for release june 14th, has already proven that 100+ players per server is possible.. sure the gfx in BF2 looks better and all but gfx doesnt mean anything when playing on a dedicated server.. afaik

Graphics means everything when you can't render it all at the same time. Razz

And BF2 is sportin' some pretty hefty stuff. I just hope they can make it all run together properly..

And judging by BFV... it doesn't look all that positive... I'm just glad they pushed it back to allow for more DEV time. I hope they get it right, I really do.

Yes, it proved it's possible but it was bad, laggy and slow.
It's hard to do 100 player server without lag, but that's what BF2 team has to do if she wants her fans to enjoy Surprised

it is possible to host a game with 100 players, the server must have a fast connection like t1 and up

I just hope it has a more concentrated, team feeling to it. BF 1 had a great feeling to it, but almost every server either entirly lacked team support, or had 1 or 2 rambo players who dominated everyone else.

In contrast, UT2k4, which is a much faster game with quake like weapons, ironically has more centralized support from its players, and games are constant back and forth battles for control of nodes to win the match (In ONS at least).

I dont know, when I play a BF1942 game I feel very distant from my teammates, it just seems that it attracts more idiots and lamers then any other game.

The arguement against that is play with your friends, but the funny thing is when I play other MP games, it feels like I AM playing with friends, even if they are total strangers, then I come to BF1942 and I might as well be playing against bots.

EDIT: Well, not BF bots, we all know how good THEY are Wink

That's the problem with battlefield, you can rarely get a good teamplay, but usually everybody are waiting in the landing pad and waiting for the heli or plane to spawn, then kill your team mates and get it first.
And it happes on EVERY server, and that's a thing that should be fixed. Wink

Thats the problem that made me delete the game,at first i loved it and i even bought it,and i joined servers with good players etc but the longer the game had been on the shelves more idiots and smacktards came by ruining all the fun...

if they fix this somehow for Battlefield 2, i will deffinatly be buying it

Wouldnt say so,if theres smacktards in all the public servers theres nothing to do,and if admins are not around to kick them, your doomed to play with stupid fucks with a mental disorder

Every game I have ever played online, including the Battlefield games, I have always had teamwork. I just have my buddies buy the game and then we all play on the same team. I would suggest taking the time (which isn't alot) to make connections with like minded people so you have a group to game with. If you don't have buds you game with frequently there can only be a few conclusions:

1. You just got into online gaming and haven't had enough time.
2. You don't play enough for people to remember and want to be pals with.
3. You are one of the smacktards and you drive people away.

Go to the TPF (teamplay first) website and add some guys to xfire. Just enter games with any TPF members in there and I guarantee you will have a more enjoyable game experience.

I myself carry the TPF tag in-game and promote teamplay whenever possible. It's a whole different experience.

4. or you just want to play on random servers for fun without having to know a bunch of people to have fun and play teamgames....
plus many of my mates dont play the BF games....

Too many imbecils out there Rolling Eyes
