Well it didnt take long, The worlds first PS3 game has just been dumped and uploaded to the net -
NFL Madden 2007 USA BLUERAY PS3 PARADOX
Their is no way of running this on the PS3 as their is no way to play backups yet but still the PS3 has only been out for a week or so and already the games are starting to get ripped...

| (We heard someone released something but we couldnt find anything |
| concrete so thought we'll release it anyways!) |

| We may be quiet on the release front (Why do all the suppliers |
| go to 'lesser' groups ?) but we here at PARADOX dont sit around |
| doing nothing - OK maybe most of us do, but some of us actually |
| earn our money and have managed to rip this little baby for your |
| pleasure. Granted it may end up being a bad rip or even totally |
| unusable like the initial PS1/2/PSP/XBOX/XBOX360 releases but |
| without them I doubt we would be able to play them now. |

| titles but coz were skint and cant afford to buy em all were only |

And you can totally see that the blueray discs aren't necesarry, 67x100mb= 6,7GB so it would fit easily on a Dual Layer DVD.

The PS3 Blu-ray Game Discs resemble the PSP file format.
Resistance: Fall Of Man is 17.53GB (18,827,837,440 bytes).

i only can say this is LOL come group make a wii dump so it must be fake , some group makes a ps3 dump then it must be real :/ wow i love the twisted logic on the console people

paradox is a real group , the dumps are available for download. The method to dump the discs has been released and verified. It is unknown if they are valid and will work.

Just proves that running unsigned code, let alone a whole freaking OS, means good for hacking.
Unlike the 360 where hackers have no way of executing any custom code (aside from programmable shaders before the dash update), the PS3 is open for probing. Might last a few months though.

People learn the facts :
1.Resistance: Fall Of Man is 17.53GB (18,827,837,440 bytes) once dumped
2.Those numbers in that Resistance file list are the LBA indices and each block is 2kb. This means that each padding file equals 32MB, making is a total of 7GB of FMV with 1.9GB of padding. Audio, in all its localisations, totals 2.24GB. The remainder is the archived game assets totalling 6.12GB
conclusion : article is BS , there is padding data but not OVER 22 gigs of it !!!

A note on the relatively small iso size: most of the launch games don't have much content. Same story with the PSP, the isos in the begining were only a few hundred mb, now they're 1.5 gb.

All PS2 games have gigs worth of padding data UNLESS they actually fill up the space with useful data. Case in point Ratchet and Clank 3 (from the makers of resistance) is about 300MB of data and 4GB of padding.
For PS2 Sony pads all game data to the outer edge of the disc for faster reading dvds.. do they not do that with bluray then? Makes no sense having the data on the inner rim if the device uses a fixed rpm to read the disc.

Blu Ray has a constant reading speed all over the whole disc (at least that's what Sony claims) so there is no need for padding data.
Resistance is so big because Sony told them to make it that way (I guess they use MPEG1 for the cut-scenes, wav for the audio,...)
