"It seems Sony is making one mistake after another with details of the PlayStation 3 being released to the public and the backlash that ensues.

The latest piece of information that seems to have angered gamers has to do with the PS3 game pads. Much as with the Xbox 360 pads, they are wireless and have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. However, unlike the 360 pads, the PS3 pad is a sealed unit, which therefore becomes unusable if the battery ever dies."

how would you guys rate Sony's stream of screw-ups with the PS3 ?
it seems to me that they are losing a lot of credibility

I think the majority of the articles that were reading now are of the overexaggerated style which crop up around the time of any machines launch (remember the top ten reasons not to own a 360 article), the Xbox power supplies article, the overheating articles etc - you either consider all the facts carefully and take them seriously or with a pinch of salt.

The bigger concern to me at the moment is the control element that they seem to be adement on enforcing, the this is our game not yours stance (don't sell it, trade it etc). Blue Ray could almost be considered as another form of control, no doubt it'll have its advantages and one day may be the new format only time will tell but I also think there rubbing their hands together viewing it as a form of reducing piracy - look around for blank Blue Ray media the prices are v. expensive. Then theres their enforcement of no importing and closure of Lik Sang as another poster pointed out. I'll also be interested to see how this obsession with control carries over to their online service.

At the moment on the surface of things Sony are certainly giving MS a run for their money if not surpassing them. How much of all this is going to affect me though if I just wanted to do what I typically do and purchase a console, maybe buy MGS 4 and GT HD and sit at home and play them.....not much really. Razz

The screw up with the laptop batteries was bigger IMO, there lucky nobody was seriously injured/killed.

No way! I bought a few GBA flash cartridges & linker from lik-sang years ago - good company dude - bummer !

This & other crapolio by Sony should enrage the hack community to really go to town on PS3 & Sony products <fingers crossed>

I hate it when a company gets so large it sets out to destroy rival companies & preserve its monopoly. Sure its protecting its own products but you can bet Sony will get all smug and self-satisfied with itself .... and raise prices even higher or biotch-slap its customers some more.

Death to all Mega Corp's Very Happy Very Happy

RIP Lik Sang.

Die uber-greedy sony bastards, die!

The sooner they get the shit beaten out of em in the console market, the better. I didn't use to think that way, but now with all these lawsuits I say fuck em. These days they do nothing to innovate gaming, just make more profit. Sony needs to die.

Yeah... hell, it might even be superceded by Nintendo. They revealed the fact that they are already working on the next version of their console in an interview, which is geared for high-def displays, and there is talk of them using the cell processor, once it is more stable. I give it 2-3 yrs, especially if the Wii sells like hotcakes, which it prolly will. So once sony gets their console free from defects(if ever) and actually priced for mainstream, they will lose the tech advantage all together. Then what is there to the ps3? Giant crabs? Game over, sony.
