ok, my computer does not boot when i enable virtual memory...well let me clarify, I have windows xp and i get through the xp loading screen you know where the blue squares move showing the loading process, and when the user selection screen normally shows up it is just a black screen.
I've tried letting windows manage the VM and i've done it manually. Everything runs perfectly when I don't have VM enabled. I need VM so I won't crash when there's 800 things on my screen, I haev 2 gb corsair ram, ddr400... I just want a little extra virtual ram and I just want this problem fixed in general.
I was thinking maybe there is a service for VM i disabled but I couldn't find one. I can boot in safemode with VM enabled but it wont' boot normally. This is one that's got me stumped, first problem I've had on this computer if you don't count having so many fans my raid setup didn't boot hehe even with 550w
any ideas

win xp pro sp2
3ghz p4 800 fsb
2gb corsair xms ddr 400 ram
2x 300 gb sata in raid
1x 20gb ide
oldie but goodie abit ic7-g mobo
edit: for about radeon x800xl agp 8x(ya i need quad core and pciE i know :/)
comp runs at 42 C so it's not like a cooling issue or anything.
I've gotten my memory settings perfected too, gothic 3 running flawlessly on high setting except shadow
thing is i'm using virtual memory right now, but if I restart i'll just get a black screen after windows loads. so to get around this what I've found is I can disable VM before shutting down, and then when it comes back up just enable it again once windows is loaded...but yeah for one i'll forget to do that and secondly that's really gay

thanks for giving me some possible solutions....when I got home from work today I booted up my computer and everythign ran as usual, then I thought about coming to nforce and was like hey wtf, my computer turned on...so yet again I've gotten another error that just magically goes away once i've forgotten about it. you'd think computers would behave the same way always but yeah....hopefully it just doesn't f up again
