at the moment i have basic 2.1 speakers (sub with 2 satelite speakers). have them for about 3 years now and they start to sound a little weird...
i dont want to spend more than 100$ since im not an audiowhore  i'm thinking about one of these two, which one would you get if you had the choice?
Logitech X-530
Creative Inspire P5800
and please dont say something like "neither one, get this one or that one instead"

which ones can i crank up higher without distortion? did you test that by any chance?

hmm k. too bad the creative aint that good. i could get those in town at that price. the logitech i had to order or pay 30$ more...

true enough, just making sure. thought one is much better than the other, since i couldnt find a decent review on the creative ones

Creative suck ass.
Inherently bad design. Extremely poor customer support.
I've had the wired remote on this set replaced twice already. They won't work at all without it. Now my warranty is up I have to pay the next time it fucks up. Sod that I'm just going to throw them in the bin and buy a logitech set.

yeah, those are the ones i'll get today or tomorrow. just found out that staples has them on sale as well for 79.90$ lol what are the odds of a sale starting at the same time i want to get it?

just installed them but had an issue with the audigy, rear speakers werent working, so i yanked the audigy out and tried with onboard audio and it works perfectly now. for 80$ im really amazed of the sound quality of these speakers, and no distortion at all, no matter how loud i play my music. took about 3 minutes until the neighbour came over  i highly recomment these if you're not an audiowhore like me
will wallmount them tomorrow, not in the mood for tonight...

ok, figured out how to enable all speakers using the audigy. all you have to do is enable cmss in the eax console to simulate surround sound in stereo mode...shows how much i know about surround
watched last night 'das boot' again, and with surround speakers its even a greater movie...

has nothing to do with creative really. mp3s are just stereo (front left/right speakers) and to use all speakers you have to clone the stereo sound to the other speakers or simulate surround 3d sound

one other thing. you think small drivers equals crap? have you ever listened to a bose home theatre system? suppose not...
