Can you recommend me some good mp3 players, if not by personal usage, at least by specs. I am looking in buying either a good: heavy weight hdd player : ), preferably they won’t be heavy or a light weight player with smaller memory space. Money is no object : )

I would recommend any iRiver player, two of my friends have them and are very pleased. They both initially went for the ipod but after some research they both independantly decided to get iRiver's. There slightly more expensive than the iPod but I think its worth it.

I have an iAudio player which has served me well but to be honest i'd say the iRiver seems better.

I have a network walkman on the way. Its like an Ipod but supports ATRAC3 format (better compression to quality then mp3) and is smaller.

http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=3oW9vk6GvY69pw-j_sS3tQGXPJXh3_2lBsc=?ProductSKU=NWHD1&Dept=pa&CategoryName=pa_DigitalMusicPlayers_Network

Sure the Ipod holds more but the Sony has a 30 hour battery life compared to the Ipods 12 hour...

whoever told you that atrac3 is better compression to quality is wrong go to www.doom9.org or www.cdfreaks.com and people have done comparisons for each bit rate and atrac3 is crap

I m not going to go for the sony because they convert all the files (who are converted once allready from wave to mp3) and I wont go for the iPod as its battery time is lousy......any tips about any other HDD players or great Flash Players?

If you've got enough money available check out the Archos 420. It comes with 20, 40 or 80 GB,plays mp3 and wma. Also it plays avi and you may watch pictures in jpeg (no progressive jpeg) and bmp. And believe me the screen is just amazing, a few days ago i watched Magnolia while beeing on a longer trip.
You may also record in divx from your Tv or Sat.
iRiver will release a similar product soon iRiver PMP-120.

Nothing can come close to the iPod, if only for the user interface. Best by far. At least, the iPod mini and the new generation iPod. The click-wheel rocks.

Yes, iPods are expensive - but as soon as you hold one in your hands and use one, you know where the money went Smile

I certainly never regret my iPod mini purchase, and I ended up paying £60 more than I should have done if I'd waited a couple more weeks.

I have a Rio Nitrus 1.5 gb (which I like) .... but they also have this a 5gb model (Rio Carbon)that's really small and probably more along the lines of what you're looking for.

http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/shop/_templates/item_main_Rio.asp?model=267

"Sporting an ultra-thin and tapered design, and with 25 percent more memory than iPod® mini, this tiny MP3 player, about the size of a business card, will slide into any pocket virtually unnoticeable. The Rio Carbon is capable of holding up to 80 hours of MP3 (160 hours WMA) music**, and with up to 20 hours of battery life on a single charge, music lovers need not worry about running out of juice. Supporting USB 2.0 and a host of file formats; users can download music efficiently and easily from most of their favorite online music sites. The Rio Carbon also includes voice recording and provides seamless integration and support of both the PC and Mac platforms."

Of course there's always the 20 gb Rio Karma too:

I'll recommand either Apple iPod mini 4GB or Creative Muvo2 FM 5GB
They both works like a charm. The sign of ipod mini is pretty nice, but the Creative Muvo2FM got 1Gb more than the ipod and just almost same price of the two...

Design --> iPod Mini
or else, go for the Creative Muvo2 FM 5GB
