Reinstalled MechWarrior 4 once again so i thought id ask you guys what your favourite replay-games are.

The question is twofold, which games give you the best replay-value and which has the highest reinstall- and replay-interval.

1. What game, the second (or third, fourth, fifth etc) time around, has given you the best new challenges or lead you down a totally different path in the story?

2. What game you've reinstalled and replayed the most times?

Here's a little bonus-question:
3. What game have you spent the most (total) time playing?

For me:

1. Challenge-wise: Soldiers: Heroes of WW2, Story-wise: KOTOR1
2. Mechwarrior 4 or Fallout 2
3. Dark Ages of Camelot (easily, stupid time-sucking mmorpgs Wink)

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Hmm well i dont play many games now adays

but the answr to all 3 questions has to be

Morrowind and WOW, prob in equal amounts

If wow was free it would be great value for money (as morrowind was) but now ive cancelled my WOW acc as the game has become stale and boring to me..

At this moment in time im going through the settlers games again.. great fun and im learning new things to do in the games aswell.. which imo makes a game fun..

1.) challange wise - hmmm splinter sell chaos theory comes to mind. trying to score 100% on all levels. cod2 on veteran was pretty hard on that bloody hill. halo and halo2 gave good challenge as well on harder diffuculites. im not sure this fits the question though. those games are still pretty linear.

2.) reinstalled most times- ut and q3

3.) spend most time playing - ultima 6 ffs! i spend months exploring the land, before even starting the story. just looting and maiming vilagers.

Is Fallout worth playing today still? I tried the demo recently after finishing Baldur's Gate and it seemed a long was short of it tbh.

If you havent played em you've missed out on a spectacular side of rpg-games. If you can handle crappy graphics (in todays standards) get Fallout and Fallout 2, you wont regret it. I love Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 but in my opinion Fallout is the best rpg.

1. Deus Ex or Fallout
2. probably Fallout 2
3. since I didn't count it's one of those 4: WoW, DaoC, a Final Fantasy game or a NIS game

Well at least you get a nice money to hours played ratio per month in WoW
I mean there are games you spend 50 bucks for and after 10h of playing you are through and there is nothing left to do, that sucks.

i'd argue that fallout graphics are nearly perfect still
only gripe being that they're palettized bitmaps with low color, and it shows at a few spots.. especially gradients and places like clean ground and radioactive goo
but if i could choose, i would have fallout3 done exactly the same
the sharp pixel graphics have a gritty quality to them that is perfect for a postapocalyptic wasteland
but ofcourse they will make it 3d and probably 1st person at that aswell

I missed out on Fallout 1 & 2, was kinda temporarily out of the PC scene at the time. But I've since tried getting into them.. I just can't break my way past the graphics - I can appreciate how an old time fan of the series wouldn't mind them atall but to me they're such an obstruction to what is probably a legendary RPG.

I can play Baldurs's Gate, Planescape and such just fine - because I played them in their prime and have fond memories of them, but approaching an old game for the first time after being spoilt by the latest stuff I find hard :/ I am by no means a graphics whore but I guess you become accustomed to a certain standard after a while and anything less is just an immersion-breaker.

Anyway OT:

1, 2 & 3 Ive just gotta say Civilization - no other series has kept me hooked for so long, and whenever I decide to uninstall it, it's not long before it's back on there again Very Happy Rome: Total War comes close.. but not quite Smile Here's hoping Medieval 2 takes the crown.

1. Farcry. I'm not a big fps fan, but I had lots of fun trying to figure out new ways to pass a level.
2&3 . IL-2 Sturmovik + expensions. By far I have spent more time playing this game, than any other I can think of. I see myself playing it 5 years from now.

I don't quite agree on Fallout 3 should be like Fallout 2. Maybe the gameplay should somewhat like Knights of the Old Republic? And please, no enemies running away when your character gets too strong Wink

Someone should (as Tutu did to Baldurs Gate) make implement Fallout1 and 2 into the Fallout Tactics engine. That would be so awesome.

In my opinion Fallout 3 needs to be able to play the same way as it's predecessors. I like the way Fallout Tactics handled this. Either you could play it oldschool with turn-based action or you could play it real time with the turn-based system working in the background.

I totally agree - I don't mind if they make it 3d as long as they manage to keep the same game mechanics and feeling. But turn based would imo be the best. I dunno if you ever tried combat mission - but that game has a really nice way of handling the combat. Both sides (in fallouts case you and the ai) give their orders and then you get like 1min of gameplay where you cannot interfere with the combat but you can rewind and change angle to see what really happened. Dunno if this system would work in fallout 3 or if it even would fit into the game..but it's an excellent way of handling the turn based combat.

2. Rome total war, fallout2, Max Payne 1,2, Deus ex.
3. Morrowind. ( I never replayed it just because I got the same hero for 3 years now.. And it still exists).
