I got Provision's release and whenever I try to start the game using the start.bat or hl2.exe, the game crashes back to the desktop right after this video of the valve logo. There's no error message afterwards. It reaches this blurry image with the "loading" at the buttom right corner, then crashes.
I already downloaded the update and installed it, nothing.
I tried running it in windowed mode amongst some other commands, nothing worked.
List of commands that I tried:
-windowed
-novid
-dxlevel <all levels>
-console
-auto config
-map <map name>
Its really weird beacuse I managed to run HL2 with no problems.
My specs:
P4 2.4 Ghz
768 MB RAM
Geforce 3 Ti200

So was the update package and the game in original Provision release filenames or you downloaded something else repacked or something? Also I assume you have the latest drivers/dx right?

Yes. The update package was the provision's release. And yes, I have updated drivers.
