but...don't think even for a single second that it is easy to create with this tools.
this tools are pro and it takes "some time" to get basic controll of them , not to talk of mastering them.
milkshape maybe will be good point to start, also - this progies are made to create 3d modles and animations and for textures, you will need paint software like photoshop or similar.

IMO "3D Studio Max" is the best.
I've used it for some years, and I still don't even know half the things to do.
I hate you.

No it's not the best. There is no such thing as "the best" 3d app. There are only best 3d artists, not best apps. All of the most popular 3d apps can accomplish the same result, be it max, maya, lw, but it's down to the artist to get that result.
OP, if you want to learn on your own, then Maya is my recommendation. There is incredibly huge library of video training for it, many times more than any other 3d software. If learning on your own is not your thing then go with max, because many schools train to work with max and there isn't that much material available to learn on your own (not nearly as much as for maya).
In the end, whatever your choice of an app is, if you are good with it you can get the same result with one program as you could with the other.

Like Glottis, I don't that there is one package that is better then the others. But, I do think that 3Ds Max is the most beginner friendly of the 3 big ones.
