Quote: | Maelstrom is action strategy title where Hollywood sci-fi meets groundbreaking RTS gameplay, set against the violent ecological meltdown of Earth. Based on an original concept by Codemasters and KDV Games, the Russian team behind the critically acclaimed Perimeter, players will be able to unleash a tide of carnage with colossal transforming robots, crush enemies by raining down fire, level entire mountains, and freeze the oceans.
Maelstrom takes place on a devastated future Earth where, in the wake of an apocalyptic ecological disaster, the planet is threatened by an alien invasion. In this savaged world, water has become the most valuable of resources and divided the remaining humans into two factions. Now, they must wage war against the invaders and each other in a desperate struggle for supremacy and survival.
The game's three playable factions are made up of the human race divided - the urban freedom fighting Remnants and the technologically advanced Ascension, plus the alien race, the Hai-Genti. These are superbly different factions, both in terms of theme and play strategy: |
Features:
Quote: | * Command your troops from the classic RTS vantage point and play out your ultimate strategies....
* ....then take control as you get in close and annihilate your enemies with direct control of the action, from a close up 3rd-person perspective.
* Terraform the landscape to alter play real-time and transform units on the fly, adapting them to deal with the situation with over 80 upgrade options.
* Three very different factions in terms of theme and play strategy.
* Control conventional weapons, futuristic high tech weapons and living weapons.
* Fully dynamic water, deformable terrain systems and destructible environments.
* Incredible visuals and fully bump-mapped high poly models.
* A multitude of unit options, get the most out of your army and tactics.
* Blockbuster sci-fi scenario devised by screenwriter James Swallow.

Is it for subscribers only? If it is, can somebody upload it to some free hosting service and post the link? Also, if you need hosting i can up it to my school FTP account. It's on a 1000mbit backbone with unlimited bandwidth. And since it's summer holidays now, nobody will be using it and it will have all its bandwidth free.

What's your fucking problem? I merely offered to host the demo if it was for subscribers only. Sure it'd mean i'd get it faster but i also offered it to be nice. And as far as i know the "no request" rule only applies to warez, not perfectly legal demos. So again, what's your fucking problem?

Just because it's first on FilePlanet, doesn't mean that will stay like that.
It will be publicly available on other mirriors (gamershell, gamespot, etc) later, just like the so called exclusively available demos on GameSpot...

It's Multiplayer demo/beta that requires a valid Beta-key to play. I guess.

Exactly only fileplanet subscribers can get the keys, so it would be useless even if you got the software you would only be able to run through the tutorial...which suffice it to say gets very boring very quickly

Played it, and whoa, this is CRAP, horrible graphics, gameplay like nothing (If you ride with 2 miles an hour against a car, it is flying 2000 miles away). Boring game, it's slow, blegh.
PC: Yes. Console: No.
