About Game Jackal
Game Jackal is a "must have" for the PC gamer. If you, like most gamers, find it annoying looking for and inserting the CD-ROM for your favourite game each time you play it, then Game Jackal is for you. Using Game Jackal eliminates the need to insert the CD-ROM before playing your favourite title!

Game Jackal provides the user with a powerful and easy to use interface to go gaming "cd free", it does this without modifying any of your game's files or installing any virtual drives on your system. In fact Game Jackal stands alone, there's no other product on the market that delivers the functionality that Game Jackal provides.

How does it work?

Game Jackal works by making profiles of your favorite games. When first using Game Jackal you simply create profiles for your games. The profile creation process is straightforward and is performed while you're playing your favorite games. Using the profile wizard you simply:-

Enter a name for the new profile
Select the game executable (optional)
Insert the game CD-ROM
Play your game!

That's it... your game profile is now created and "cd free" gaming is now a reality. Next time you want to play that game simply select it from the profiles list within the Game Jackal interface.
Click here to see a screen shot of the Game Jackal interface.

Features

An excellent interface, providing the user with a single tool to go "cd free" gaming.
The creation of a Game Jackal profile is performed while you are playing your favourite game!
Using the auto update feature, your version of Game Jackal will always be the latest version available.
Guardian control, this feature allow the password protection of game profiles in addition to monitoring the length of time a game is played and limiting access during preset periods (release date of this feature is pending).

Benefits

No longer do you need to find and insert the game's CD-ROM.
Preserve the original game's CD-ROM: one of the problems with having a favourite game is that the CD-ROM gets damaged over time.
Game load times are dramatically shortened.

w000t! Anyone tried it? does it work? do we need cracks anymore now? Laughing

I think you need the original CD to create a profile, then you can play that game without inserting the CD. I'm not sure but it does sound cool Cool

Cool!!! Thanks for the link, this will definately help me out on games like BFV where I actually bought it and it's mad annoying to keep putting the cd in. Razz

And for the others games that are uhh... obtained... who needs this? There's always a crack provided anyways. Wink

The profile mus be stored on the computer therefore it must be possible to export that profile to other computers.

In that case, a profile would be just like a crack sort of, just no modified game files.

This would also remove the blacklists problems with virtual cd-roms as you can hopefully make a profile out of a mounted clone cd image.

I just tried this thing and I coun't get it to work. I created a profile manualy as I tried with Hitman: Contracts and that one was not listed in the list of games built in the application.

This was created from the clone of hitman.

So after I created a profile it asked me to put in the CD, so I did that and it was inspecting it. After a short time, the game startet, so I shut it down, removed the CD and tried to activate the profile again.

Now it just asked for the CD again. So what is the point if I have to insert the CD for inspection every time.

If someone can get this to work, please say how you did it. Smile

The point is that those games protected with STARFORCE 3 can be played without a no cd crack, but lets hope it works 100% with the latest copy protections. Rolling Eyes

You can't just transfer profiles though, each profile for a game is linked to your own computer (or instance of the program). I'm sure there's a way around it, but it's not as simple as to copy and paste a file at least. Razz

Sorry, I meant if it does play STARFORCE 3 protected games we won't have to wait for so long for a no cd patch. Just assuming. Rolling Eyes

Its really this simple, a game gets released to a scene and its cracked..then apply the crack and you can play without having it mounted, at least I have been able to with the games I played. If a no-cd patch for the game is released, d/l and use the no-cd patch. That don't work? ok, then I don't know then because this gamejackal seems useless honestly, I mean it's buggy..its shareware = trial for 30 days, and nothing more needs to be said. So GameJackal gets a 1 for effort

Yes, after you create the profile inside Game Jackal you must launch it everytime you want to play.

And just to clear something up, I hope everyone realizes you NEED a legal uncracked copy for this thing to work. Razz
