I'm on a vacation in the UK now and prices everywhere are fucking killing me. 30£ for using the transport in London for a week? In my city in Israel I can use the transport for 2 months for the exact same price.
Other than that the country is wonderful, still got much to see Smile .

Well for a flat with two bedrooms it's about £250,000 and for a fully detached house with 3 bedrooms it's about £550,000. Thats over half a million canadian dollars for the flat, and over a million for the detached house.

Keep in mind that these are just average properties, there is nothing special about them which warrents that price apart from the location.

It is a lot more where you are. Hard to compair prices if you don't know the area.

Yep, property is a fantastic investment now. Still i'm suprised you got a six bedroom (detached?) for £45,000. Where is it?

At least in London you know a suicide bomber won't get on the tube with you

Er hang on.

But seriously though, where else you going?

Try Newcastle (on Tyne) for a great night life.

DO NOT GO THERE!!
christ.

London is a horrible place to look at and to live. I don't like the mentality of southerners and although they earn more money, i'd much rather live in another city (if i had to live in a city) like tokyo.

The inflated prices of everything is one of the main issues but it's more about the residents either. You have gooners and yids and that's enough to put you off for life!

Property can be a good investment but not if you have a huge mortgage. You end up paying so little on the principle. Plus if it is a second property you have to pay capital gains which totally kills you. (I don’t know if that is only in Canada. probably not.)

Even if a place is worth $500,000. and you made a profit, all the other places are going to be in that range too.

Nah in the UK it really is a big market. Unless you seriously fuck it up then you're going to make a handsome profit.

I would start doing this too (and could easily manage it in my spare time) but you need a hefty amount of start up capital which I (nor my bro who i'd do it with) don't have. We would be able do most of the work ourselves, electrics, general decorating and there's always a profit to be made.

If I can save up some money in the next few years I will buy the house i'm in now and sell it immediately. Because it's rented from a private company my mum is able to buy it for about £10,000 (or somethin rediculous) and I could easily sell it for £150,000 without doing any work at all. I've been telling my mum to do it (she wants to move out soon) but she doesn't want to be lumberd with a house and a loan of 10,000 which she cant get rid of. but the way I see it is she can sell the house for £20,000 and still make a good profit and no mug would not buy a house for that much (they're only 11 years old and we've lived in them since they were first built).

Also I live in a good town in the UK (one of the wealthiest Razz) so a sale is almost inevitable.

fuck typin this out makes me want to force my mum to buy it right now. £50,000 or whatever would suit me for uni / the rest of my 'school' life.

New houses = much better than the surrounding houses in my area by a mile. It's not amazing the house, but easily marketable really.

 Spoiler:

^ = why not newcastle Razz

Plus your nightlife consists of people from newcastle and boro which isn't a great blend of people really Smile I like manchester's nightlife. Always something going on. People out on the streets etc. Students, a good blend of people. I hardly ever see any trouble until in the early hours either which is pretty good for so many people. In my town trouble is a frequent occurance (as with everywhere now) but it's certainly not proportionate.

If you walk through the streets of manchetser at around 10-11 when most people are moving into the clubs its a great atmosphere and there's a good variety of places you can visit to not get sick of seeing the same faces (like you do in town). With so many places so close together too it's usually really cheap to go there. Sometimes cheaper to go there then it is to go around my town, and that includes travelling fares.

Yea I know it's not the general public, but I find clubs around newcastle not that great really. I've only been there twice (clubbing that is) and I didn't find both times worth the trip ( I was staying in boro so it wasnt the 3 hours from my place) I cant rememebr specifically where I went but it wasn't great neway.

LOL, it's the fucking pig and whistle what do you expect!

Ikon or lava as it's now called in cov is actually ok on weekdays in university term time, although the student unions can be great too. You vary rarely get trouble in student unions.

The best thing about student unions are the cheap beers Smile

Most places are prick-free really and most things are over-exaggerated by the media etc. There deffo are too many people with knives now though. I think bouncers should search everyone who goes in and if it means hiring an extra bouncer, or longer queues then it's not a problem.
