I was looking for a place to hide my check, because someone was coming over. Don't ask me why, in retrospect I realize it was the dumbest fucking thing in the history of the world to do when all I could do was place it in my room.
Anyways, I had it in my hand.... Thats the last thing I can remember before sitting down on my downstairs couch to play a game. NOT EVEN 30 minutes later, I say, let's go get something to eat. Then it hits me... where did I hide my check??
6 hours later....
Still haven't found it with almost nonstop searching. There goes $1200 dollars down the drain.
And I looked... oh I looked. Yeah I was freaking out, but I wasn't tossing everything all over the place. Just carefully thinking and moving things aside. I remember having a few ideas of where to hide it, on a shelf behind some papers, in a book, between a book maybe? I looked at all the places I had in mind and it is no where to be found. I looked at all the places I usually toss stuff, and it's no where there either.
I've come to the point where I believe aliens abducted me for those few minutes between taking the check out of my pocket to hide it or whatever and at the point where I sat down on my couch. I have NO FUCKING memory in between.
Now I have all day off tomorrow and no fucking money and I will have this aching pain in the back of my mind about this missing check. I guess I could ask my boss to cancel it and give me a new one on tuesday when I go in, but I'd feel like a dumbass for saying it. But maybe that's what I deserve because I am a dumb fucking ass for doing that.

Get a new cheque. Not the end of the world. If you get a new cheque and find the old one don't cash both and No, you will not get away with it. That would be fraud and easy to prove.
