Its very strange warpath is gone gold the last week and nothing released i not understand?...and for infos the game still pushed to august 06..Any groups of release has no substance for the release Crying or Very sad the scene xbox are dead ???

Yeah, it is pretty good. You should check out the demo in the meantime, other than what I would class as performance issues its a nice sampler of what to expect from the game.

Debateable of course how well Warpath is going to stand upto similiar games within the genre especially if you have access to a PC, even Unreal Championship 2 on the Xbox.

Nice enough game though in these dry times. Smile

I played the demo and thought it was ok. You can only choose between 2 guns on the demo, and only 1 level. It's very similar to the gameplay of Quake. Hopefully with all the levels, weapons, and vehicles the game should be fun.

I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

I agree with azzman's comment, nothing you can do but wait.....play Painkiller, enjoy the sun or whatever.

If you have a PC with suitable system specs you could grab the Plex release of Warpath for PC and amuse yourself with that in the meantime. Smile

sorry starshine i wait warpath only on xbox because my pc is very old not suitable system specs..you understand why i wait warpath on xbox;)..otherwise i play painkiler and its a fun and great games!

yeah mate of course I understand. I just thought it was a shame that your thread may get bogged down with comments asking when its gonna get released etc. All of us have those games that we wait for and wait for and it seems like there never going to get released - what can you do but wait? at the moment for me its Guitar Hero 2, I keep myself amused during the long wait by playing the original game and trying out other games.

They gave it 5.3 and pulled it up for the same some of the issues that I raised in my impressions of the demo i.e choppy framerate, technical problems and the fact that it really doesn't do all that much that titles like UT2004 haven't already done better. Level design was criticised as bland, generic and over familiar something which you obviously couldn't say about UT not with the amount of user created content/maps available.

I've played this now on both PC/Xbox and think part of the problem is that it has too much competition on both systems and brings nothing new to the genre that Quake 3 and UT haven't already done years back. I heard peoople comparing it to an Unreal mod in terms of quality which seems about right. The bot AI is poor - you can visibly see that they follow preset routes through the levels, the weapons aren't as well balanced as other titles and it lacks the choice of maps/gamemodes that other titles in the genre have. Graphics are merely OK when placed alongside current FPS games.

I guess its not all doom and gloom with a few mates I would begrudgingly say that you could have a couple of hours fun (which is true with most games when played with mates anyway), but with a few mates and TimeSplitters 2/3, Halo 1/2 or Unreal Tournament 03/04 theres some classic multiplayer gaming to be had with an extremely high degree of customization available to cater for most tastes.

Game has what I would class as a console port feel about it on the PC for some reason too. I have a Razer mouse which is naturally pretty responsive but in this game it fealt like the mouse had roller skates attached to the bottom of it and the mat was made of black ice. Even after I toned down the sensitivity it still fealt horrible and aiming with the sniper riflle was made alot more difficult than other games within the genre, I can't recommend this title for anything other than multidisc fodder. Smile

Having read Starshine's post and knowing very little about the game, it sounds like the game is very much multiplayer orientated. Does it not have a single player campaign or is multiplayer this games primary selling point? Er I mean downloading point? Very Happy
