Hmmm they might get outdone by the mod team fortress forever. If this happens its going to make valve look like a laughing stock.

Honestly, what's the big deal now?

Source engine is awful for online play.

TF2 will be a dissapointment at most. You may get the game you were waiting for, for ages, but look at dod:s, cs:s... anything else with the :s at the end. They are just horrible for online gaming.

Source is good for single player... mp... not so much! Very Happy

Good news tho... I guess.

Does anyone really care about this anymore?

I have an honest question. What's been in development longer, DNF or TF2?

Show me a first person shooter that has a better hit-scan detection method or client-side prediction system.

God damn, I was hyped for TF2 severals years ago and then I kinda forgot about it...

Guess it won't be so fun with a "more cartoonish style" as the preview I read was looking more like realism and similar.

Whats wrong with the Source engine? God I live Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, if you valve would care about the damn game and patch it... Sad

Its nice they try the cartoonish, it will be more action packed known TFC style

TF2 was planned to be a realistic tactical combat game, but it was to long in development and Battlefield took over.

So i think it will stick to the real Team Fortress roots

Fear. Enemy Territory. Nolf 1 / 2. Tron. Doom 3. Prey. UTXMP.

Need I go on?

You should also look at the fact that Valve isn’t making games for players that played TFC some odd years ago. CS:S has been dumbed down for those 11/13 year olds. As did DOD:S.

You honestly think that TF2 will be anything that you’d actually want to play? Not that the source engine is enough to get angry for, for online play, but also the fear of Valve dumbing the whole system down, for younger inexperienced gamers, that is constantly lingering around making it quite impossible to enjoy these news. Wait one more reason not to look forward to it… VAC2. Laughing.

I will buy episode 2 just for TF2. But if it’s just a marketing ploy to sell episode 2 with a higher price, which I honestly think it is, then kudos to valve for taking my money. Very Happy

Would've been better fior TF2 to be a seperate sell. I just hope it's at least worth a try.

Perhaps the most annoying thing about Steam is that they force you to install the patches, as well as the fact that they get information from your computer without your knowledge or consent.

That’s childsplay.

The fact that Valve continuously supports cheaters just boggles the mind.

I thought my VAC2 comment was obvious. Valve doesn't update VAC2. There are still more cheaters than gamers in CS:S DOD:S DOD CS etc.

Sure there are some DATED cheats that VAC2 may pick up... but other than that it doesn't stop cheaters. That's how they support cheaters... by ignoring them. Very Happy

They are more focused on people buying their product then actually enjoying it.

Episode one is still being patched... for crying out loud... and they are just horrible things they're patching. Last I read, i'm parapharsing, is that they're made the elevator battle a lot easier... WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?

I don't know I think its kinda clever, they get information from the games and it helps them to understand what sections of the game are hard and which are too easy. It's quite clever. As far as the anti-cheating stuff goes, it has been a long time since I played HL2 online so I didn't know the state of things.

Maybe cause cheats aren't as useful in HL2DM.
