|
 |
30 May, 2006 - IN what is claimed to be a way of dispelling myths about the Minke whale, whale catching and whale steak, people in the south of Norway are to be visited by a touring whale-mobile, Norwegian media reports.
With the whale mobile comes an accompanying kitchen equipped with a professional whale steak teacher and a whale steak assistant.
Between June 1 and July 12 the team is to travel to up to 40 locations from Trondheim and southwards. In the bigger cities people are to be given a taste of grilled Minke whale meat and learn how to prepare the meat themselves.

Whale's are one of the most peacefull, intelligent and oldest species of the planet, and they're on a very fast path to extintion, for me, killing a whale for whatever purpose is just like killing a cat or a dog.
He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither

maybe eating whale meat is considered top in norway, i don't know. or maybe its "snob"... i didn't expect this from norway ppl... they appeared to be so clever. im disapointed with them.
and its not about not eating meat, no no! its about killing the whales. its not the same as killing a salmon or many other delicious fish, or not as killing a cow.
its more like killing an elephant because of his bones. and that, of course can be expected in retarded countries in africa, (or hungry countries), but not in norway.
all i can say is: FUCK THEM!! and hope that they will regonize it, and make sense about this unlegal crime.

then you don't see the crime in killing an elephant because of the "marphil" or bones eather?
or maybe you don't care...
remember Ghandis words: The greatness of a nation, it's meassured on how the people treats its animals.
luckily still remains ppl that take care of them (each one according to their own posibilities, of course) a first step will be at least not to encourage those vile actions.

that I know, whale hunting is only legal in Norway, Canada and Japan, I've heard some time ago that Canada will make it Illegal, don't know what is the current status around there.
but despite of the written law, killing a whale is an ethical crime, and I honestly despise those ignorant people that ask, "what's the big deal about it, that a whale is just a big fish."

whale hunting is a crime of murder, but what they do to the seals, that's cold blood torture, those people should suffer the same fate.

My grandmother have it sometimes. She think its delicious... but i don't think its any speisal. Good, but also expensive. As all food that is made in Norway.
USA was so pissed at Norway, and thought we was some insane fuckers after watching some whale hunting movies. Sandefjord was the number one whale killer :twised:

94% of the people who live here. 300 immigrants. And all the people who work here at summer to earn enough money to live "the life" in their own countries.

as it gives no other food... poor country. :S
whales are not as outnumbered to mantain them under control. as i understand it eating a whale is a "delicatesse". but that is a human selfish pretention, that can be changed, as it is having a "marphil" decoative piece of art at home.

Whatever, I'm not for extermination of any creature lesser than man, but I wouldn't mind tasting their meat once if it is available.
As for cats and dogs, I love all cute animals, but as long as my own animal doesn't get slaughter than I don't have morale difficulties eating its kind.

I'm also sure you wouldn't mind to taste dog or even human meat, but wrong is wrong, and eating a whale is, like said above, a selfish act like killing a elephant for their precious bones, and the fact that it was a tradition in some countries doens't make it an excuse, centuries ago was also a tradition to hang people in public, until someone prove to them, they were wrong.
it's the same about whale hunting or even the seal torture. it's wrong, everyone knows it. that's why the people who eat whale and use seal clothes make it such a big deal, because deep down they know it was wrong.
