that card costs over here belgium around 450 euro's (around 540 dollars), and i would work less than 6 days to get it.

I can get a 6800 GT for £290. But the 6800 cards don't impress me much, their D3D performance is rubbish compared to the X800.

Exactly. They do outperform the 9800XT in D3D but only just. But compared to their contemporaries they are beaten by a large margin, especially with high resolutions. Even in OpenGL they only beat the x800XT by a few frames, and considering most games are D3D I know what i'd go for. But i'm going to wait anyway.

Best price here in Sweden for a Nvidia 6800 GT is 300$ (PNY GeForce FX6800GT 256MB DDR3/AGP/DVI/TV-OUT). Leadtek has almost the same price. The most expensive one is sold for 345$ (Aopen and Gainward, both 256mb). The cheapest Ultra card costs 345$ (Gainward, 256mb and DDR3).
Pretty good prices I think but the dollar is pretty week at the moment.

Dude, it all depends on the value of your currency...
Here , in Canada, the 6800 GT are like 700$ (not the cheapest ones)
700$ CND = ~400$ USD.
That's why i'm getting a 6800 basic edition for 450$ CND

As with everything, there are different places best suited for different things. If you're a doctor, for example, you stay the fuck out of eastern european countries with government-sponsored healthcare. If you're a techie, you stay the fuck out of the country that outsources most (cough... us). A lawyer... well... they need you people anywhere. Et cetera.
Therefore, please, let's not go back to Americabashing. It's been done time and time again, it's old, and it's getting damn annoying.

I know the prices in Poland for computer hardware has changed very mutch the last years..
5 years ago computer parts was almost free..
now it's cheaper for computer parts in Norway!!
a 6800 GT costs 566$ USD!
it's kinda funny you know..
Poland is cheaper than Norway in all possible ways.. but still, the computer parts is cheaper in Norway..
