My country shall come and enlighten your country.
We shall lift the shackles of freedom from your hands.
We shall unchain thee from the walls of logic.
We shall cleanse your mind of doubt.
We shall rule you completely with order.

Prepare for enlightment.

And remember, "Blessed is the mind to small to doubt"

lol ... you guys ... the USA isn't going to invade anyone! Razz

I'd be more worried that ExxonMobile will try to take the oil, not Washington.

No doubt. If they were going to invade anyone over hydrocarbons is would be us canucs to the north. We allready provide them 25-30% of there Natural Gas.

And why does everyone think "OMG, the big bad oil company found a discovery in my country; they are going to ruine it all" ??

When they will probably put alot into the economy there, provide a shit load of jobs etc. And if they have a lease or own the mineral rights. Its there oil. And The royalty revenue from a project that large will be huge for NZL.

And that article linked is so funny. Secret sciesmic data.. To funny. Sciesmic data is the property of the company who bought it,shot it etc. Its not public information. And never should be, its not secret. If you want the data, buy it. Shooting sciesmic isnt cheap. And it is very imoral to revoke a lease if a company has allready invested money in the play. To me it looks like some player got left out, and was fine with it. Until they made a discovery, fucking leaches.

32 million people here and ...

Quote:
As of 2005, Canada´s oil reserves, approximately 180 billion barrels (29 km³), puts Canada in second place (Saudi Arabia has the largest reserves), and ranks ninth in the production of crude oil the world over, approximately 2.7 million barrels (430,000 m³) of crude oil a day, and 6.4 trillion cubic feet (180 km³) of natural gas per year (third largest producer of natural gas in the world). Canada also has the largest oil sands reserves (its offshore reserves have just begun to be tapped).

For real Neutral

More money towards healthcare and medical stuff i say. More doctors, support staff and hospitals...especially in a city like Toronto. The emergency rooms are fuckin horrible. Minium 4 hour wait, if your lucky.

Emergency Rooms are overcrowded because people go there with a runny nose ...

My work released a pretty big report on it not too long ago ..

Quote:
The majority of patients who visit Canadian emergency rooms do not require urgent medical attention, says a new report released Wednesday by the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

The report says that 57 per cent of patient visits to selected Canadian ERs were for less-urgent or non-urgent conditions, including sore throats, mild abdominal pain and earaches.

Only 0.5 per cent of patients in emergency departments were considered severely ill, meaning they needed life-saving intervention.

The newspaper article:
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20050914/er_visits_canada_050914?s_name=&no_ads=

Or straight from the source (pretty interesting report if you're interested):
Understanding Emergency Department Wait Times: Who is Using Emergency Departments and How Long are They Waiting?
http://secure.cihi.ca/cihiweb/dispPage.jsp?cw_page=AR_1266_E&cw_topic=1266

fun facts like this one! Very Happy
Quote:
• Almost half of the patients visiting EDs completed their visit in two hours or less. The median length of stay in EDs—measured from the time of registration or triage to the time of ED discharge—was approximately 2 hours (128 minutes). However, 10% of patients spent 36 minutes or less (10th percentile) and 10% spent over six hours in the ED (90th percentile) in 2003–/2004. The amount of time that patients spent in the ED varied according to the severity of their illness, the patients’ age, how many other patients were being cared for and the time of the day the visit took place.†
