No, each joystick requires a specific driver file. Unless a game directly supports the USB device (like Logitech Wheels for GT4) then it does not work.
Games could have a generic driver but they dont. Even your keyboard and mouse needs a generic driver to work, and some FPS games supports kb and mouse by having such drivers and support coded into the game.
