I know this is lame question - but i am a PC gamer who has just bought a ps2 fo my 6yaer son. I am getting a small library of games together but was wondering if the quailty has changed much over the past few years. I'm looking at game reviews at gamespot.com and am wondering, as the console has remanied technically the same - would I be best to get say fifa 2001 if it scored a 9.2 - or is Fifa 2005 going to be better with a ranking of 8.5/10 at gamespot? New/Old or just score?

Thanks

one answer: play pro evolution soccer 5 BUT even the 1st version is still better than latest fifa game

just install a patch to have all licenced kits, teams and players

Thanks Manu_Xl for the reply - and I will try PES5 but I only used FIFA as an example. I 'm saying that unlike PC games that constantly change as PC hardware becomes more powerful - do PS2 games change? Therefore would Grand Turismo1 be as good as GT4 released 3 years later but using the same technology? Is SSX1 as good as SSX4, Mortal combat 1 - 4...etc (please excuse me if some of these tiles are PS1 games and some are PS2 - but you get the drift).

of course newer games are better as regards the graphics. devs have to learn the console. at launch they dont code as efficient as possible. over the years the learn to maximalize the use of console. so YES, newer games are better.
