Description:

Condemned: Criminal Origins allows players to experience a heightened level of psychological tension as they use their instincts, forensic tools, and melee/firearms combat to track serial killers and bring them to justice. Gamers will play as Agent Thomas, an investigator in the FBI’s Serial Crimes Unit (SCU), whose pursuit of relentless serial killers leads him through urban environments filled with sociopaths lurking on the periphery of humanity.

Presented in a first-person view for maximum visceral effect, this atmospheric thriller is best played with the surround-sound up and the lights off. Given the power of nextgeneration hardware, Condemned: Criminal Origins features photo-realistic backdrops, life-like physics, and highly sophisticated artificial intelligence. Weapons and ammunition are scarce, leaving the player vulnerable to a gallery of mentally deranged criminals. Careful detective work and precision reflexes are a player’s primary means of survival. Inspired in part by the films of the psychological thriller sub-genre, Condemned: Criminal Origins maintains an intense, focused pace. Players can never be sure what waits around each corner.

Features:

* Next-generation lighting, mapping, and filtering techniques provide for environments of unprecedented detail and visual quality.
* Intelligent enemies respond strategically to your offensive and defensive maneuvers.
* High-level physics allow players to manipulate background items, which respond realistically when picked up, kicked, or bumped.
* An assortment of environmental weapons, such as lead pipe, concrete encrusted section of rebar, firearms and a stun gun.
* Meticulously crafted 5.1 surround-sound will cue players to the location of off-screen enemies.

Yeah, I saw a preview of this game for the Xbox 360 and I was really impressed. It looks like a good idea, and it has some nice gfx. I'm afraid it's going to be too consolized to really enjoy it on the PC.

Yeah, a great game, but really short.

The fighting is mad and the enemies are really intelligent. You can tell it's created by the same developers as FEAR.

e.g. Two guys are fighting you, one of them swings and misses, you crack his head open with a crowbar and then snap his neck. The other guys sees this and runs off to hide. You carry on, and the guy jumps out of a closet and beats you to death from behind.

Heh, just one example of many. Great graphics too, although it probably won't look as good on my PC.

Nice short review on the insanity of the game Twisted Evil , remind me of Manhunt. About the Graphics, why they should not look as good on PC? Most 360 games look the same on high end PC.

The only part that scared me in FEAR was in the end with the heli. This looks much more dark and sinister. I like games like that, that keep you on the edge all the time.

Well theres a bit in an abandoned shopping mall where the mannequins start coming to life (well, people dressed as mannequins) that feaks you the fuck out, to the point where you start smashing up the actual immobile mannequins just in case.

Oops, just ruined it.

Thats what I was thinking. Can you really go much further then full on swearing and knocking someones teeth out with a sledge hammer and then crushing their face with a headbutt?

It could just be marketing BS, like that guys says. I can't imagine what they cut from the game, it even has mental children you get to kill in the school.
