PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon man who went to a hospital complaining of a headache was found to have 12 nails embedded in his skull from a suicide attempt with a nail gun, doctors said.
Surgeons removed the nails with needle-nosed pliers and a drill and the man survived with no serious lasting effects, said a report on the medical oddity in the current issue of the Journal of Neurosurgery. The unidentified 33-year-old man was suicidal and high on methamphetamine last year when he fired the nails into his head.

12 huh? Poor bastard. You'd think he'd of figured out by #6 that maybe it isn't quite going to cut it.

I'm suprised he didn't have brain damage, they must have been short nails. Although from the sounds of it he was already brain dead before the suicide attempt.
I don't know whether meth impairs your memory while under the influence, but you would think he would remember shooting 12 nails into his head.

He does remember, he was probably just high and complained of a headache at first in the hope they wouldn't find the nails or somethin. You wouldn't go to the hospital for some paracetamol which is all you need for a headache :/ |

people have had things alot larger than nails sticking in there brain and havent had any lasting effects from them.

The meth explains everything tho...like why he'd try to kill himself and why'd he'd be stupid enough to use a fuckin nail gun...
Some people are so ridiculous. Like fuck, there should be no "attempted" suicide. Either u want to die and get a gun and blow your brains out or u use some other non for sure method and live or dont even make the "attempted"...how cracked out do u have to be to use a fuckin nail gun? Ive been shot in the foot with a nail gun and jesus christ, it hurts so bad...nevermind takin a few nails to the head....

think about it... what if the poor fucker messed with the wrong crowd.
They got him high on meth and then tried to blast him with a nail gun.
Is that hard to believe? I think that he'd need to be pushed up against something. The force of the nail going into the skull would push his head back several times with immense power We've all banged our heads a bit too hard against the bed board and we all know that after a few HARD hits it hurts quite mad. Not to forget the bit when you're dead dizzy.
Any halu-holo-helo-genic? drug or even shit drugs or even alcohol would pretty much immobilize you if you got very dizzy Hitting your head 12 times with a hammer (that's the pressure of the nail coming out of the nozzle, come on they're made to puncture a two inch board without the need of a hammer.) so I think that someone tried to whack him off and tried to overdose him with meth
The poor bugger ain't gonna say nuttin now... but for sure that poor cracka ain't tryin to kill himself.
Just think of the time when a bloke shot him self twice in the head with a gun.  or a shotgun i don't remember. Still. he dead now
