The 2-3 last weeks it sometimes woun't boot proper.
I turn the PC on, and it sounds ok... i think. And nothing happend. The screen button its just flashing "green" as it wasn't connected at all. And after some tries it use to work. It use to happen if its cold in the room and i haven't used it in a long time. My guess would be that there is something wrong with the motherboard... But i don't really get it.. It works after awhile of trying. But when i come from this weekend, it booted up, no problem, but i have to restart (because the keyboard wasn't connected proper) and it happens random i think... anyone think they may have a solution.
Iv got radeon 9800pro an 2-3 year old Asus motherboard... Hoping for serious answers. And remember - it works after some time, just not today. The other times its been working after 3-4 min. of trying. But yesterday i had no sucess
Move if you can find a better section |
if the screenbutton[monitor powerlight i presume] is flashing, then there is something wrong with your videocard.
Try installing another card and see what happens. If it works withouth problems, then it could be the motherboard.
Also, look if the cablemonitor is connected good to the vgaconnector on your videocard.
moving btw

yep - could be the reason.
If I remember correctly there was a Problem with some Radeon 9800 Pro cards (sapphire?!)
A Bios update solved this Problem.

Could you be a little more specific about your motherboard (brand, socket and so on). Also do you have anything overclocked, have had... and so on...

Do you get any errors about the CMOS battery? My old Asus board had almost the same symptoms and replacing the cmos battery with a new one helped for a while untill it wouldn't boot at all.
