Be prepared to sacrifice certain pieces of hardware If you have more thne 2 HDD's then you might have a problem making it all fit and make sure the cabinet has a good airflow.

Though wait until Sublime sees this thread since he has a barebone.

The newest shuttles have space for 4 HDD's, although I wouldnt be too happy about putting 4 in due to heat..

Nup, most small form factor cases only provide 1 CDrive space.

Though dont take it as a problem since you can always buy a combined drive which supports every media out there.

I have an Aopen barebone for almost a year now. Did buy it because i needed a HTPC to watch tv from a quite pc system. I'm really satisfied with it, only the hard drive gets a little hot with 52C, but thats a known problem with Aopen barebones.

Shuttle:s are also very well known, but i think most of their AMD systems are for socket 939 now, and not all of their systems are that quite, especially if you put in a high performance graphics card, regardless what Sublime will say about the noise level Razz

The Shuttles are indeed the best. My SFF is actually really 'cool' (as in cold) in comparison to most other PC's.
It's not noisey at all except for the half second when you switch it on and the Fans start to spin. I'll have to speak to my bro to see which is the best at the moment but tell me what you want it for i.e. gaming / graphics / server and i'll ask him which is the best.

no because he wants 2 AGP slots. He should go for a 939 socket and PCI-e. For that i'd deffo get the sn26_P (the newer model of mine with 2 PCI slots)

Is my barebones but since its only got 1 PCI-e slot you might wanna go for the 26

ehmm I dont even think thats possible, AGP will not run SLI only 2 PCI-E slots will.

And well wouldnt it generate alot more heat since the 2nd card might stop the airflow?

It's designed though to not be a big problem. Yes it will be restricted a little but since they have their own fans it's hardly going to be drastic.

no because like i said, The fans have their own fans so it cools the gap between the 2 and adds a tiny bit of airflow. the extra card only restricts the space inside the system by a little bit,. the fans help to 'lessen' the effect and overall its not that bad. besides the XPC's have great airflow and cooling Smile

www.shuttle.com

I'm not sure which is best for you but if you're going to spend that much on a SFF you may as well go for a shuttle since it's better than the one you've chosen.

I got this one as a entertainment system, can really recommend it. Looks good, kind of cheap, good specifications and upgradebles.
I love it.
