It will probably now be as sharp as a monitor and you will not be able to run as high resolution (lets say you run 1600x1200 on your PC monitor).

other than that the refreshrate will prolly be 50/60Hz so the framerates will be the same or higher thinking about the lower resolution.

To give my pov on using a TV to a PC:
Watching movies from on the TV used as a screen: perfect!
gaming: naah never really liked it but I a mate of mine thinks it is sweet.

so test it out for yourself and see what you think.

Why s-video, doesn't the tv have a sub-d or dvi port, if not i would choose another one, my 26 inch tv has a dvi port and is connected to the pc with its native resolution of 1280x768. It looks really sweet.

You connect one DVI port of your Radeon to your tv and that was it, just like a regular TFT. Just make sure that the tv you are buying has a DVI port with HDCP, otherwise you can't connect new HD-DVD or Blueray Disc players to that DVI port. But most modern tv's have that anyway. Mine doesn't have it as it's an older model, but you should still be able to use your pc on a DVI port with HDCP, soon there will be graphics cards with an encrypted (HDCP) DVI port.

Some infos on HDCP:

My bud just got a 27" LCD. With S-video, movies looked fine, but anything else you tried to do looked kind of crappy (ie. grainy text, colors a little off, unable to navigate programs, due to not being able to read the screen.) I hooked it up as a duel monitor setup, and viola. That sucker is as clear as a bell, and is tighter and crisper than his 15" LCD. You will love it, just dont use s-video, and use the DVI port, or In my case I ran it into the monitor port in the back. Best of luck.

That was my next question, i saw in some forum that to be able to use a TV as a PC screen, its still need to have a PC monitor hook up at the same time in dual...is this true? Cause the point of getting a LCD TV, is too get more free space on my desk

Dont know much about DVI, but if the TV has a VGA port I dont see any probs with running it as a single display. I could be wrong though, I never tried it by itself.
