3 Legendary Heroes, 1 Classic Story! A boy who wields the evil known as ARM, A master swordsman who travels in search of an absolute power, A princess who has the power to communicate with the guardians of the world... Together they join forces to bring life to their world and restore hope to a world on the brink of ruin. Prepare to embark on a journey of epic peril with those known as Dream Chasers.

Seems like a great game in my opinion. It is a remake of the first title in the series, originaly for PlayStation. It was released about 6 months before "Final Fantasy VII" and it is still one of the best games for the system in my opinion so i don´t think a Remake could get worse.

Release Date: December 15th 2005 (Tomorrow)

It wouldn't surprise me if you could do exactly what you did with the JAP version and make it fit on a DVD5.

I actually consider buying this game since Agetec has released this in the US, if it doesn´t sell very well, then they won´t translate any more games at all.

I just finished remaking this into a dvd5, and it seems to work fine (played for about 10minutes).
I downsampled all the movies (except the ending movie), relinked some dublicated files that were on both layers.

There are no dummy file in this game, except for two which take up like ~4mb combined, the space is taken up by movies and more movies, and the dublicated files. There will most likley be a DVD5 release soon for those that dont feel at home with these things. Smile

Anyone know if its possible to flatten the DVD9 for use on HDA, or should I just get to downsampling/download the rip?

Yeah you can flatten it.
Extract both layers to the same dir, and then rebuild it to 1 big iso.

This game is so damn good, best RPG all year, it even beats DQ8 which is an amazing game in my opinion. I loved the first Wild Arms and this is an even better remake.

I have nearly got the dual layer vers down.. and cant be arsed to grab the dvd5.. is the process easy to do? can i just delete some/all moviefiles? or simply use smaller movie files..rename them to the bigger movie files?

or will the game work simply burned onto a dual layer blank?

It's problary better if you just burn it onto a dual-layer disc, just apply the patch before you do it. Smile
It's not that simple to do all the work you have to do for a working dvd5.

Game is ok. It's no where near as good as wild arms, 3d simple can not touch 2d, it's just not possible, you get so much more detail in 2d than you do in 3d, and especially in this case where wild arms had drop dead gorgeous 2d graphics. Dungerons with small and crampy rooms are hard to navigate with this new 3d, it's nothing like the old wild arms.
And the worldmap is fucked-up. They made the idiotic choice to go with the wild arms 3 worldmap, the fricking SEARCH for places crap! It's the worst shit to ever hit a world map, I mean if I stand right next to a town I expect to SEE it, I shuld NOT have to push some lame SEARCH button, it's REALLY annoying.

And wild arms 4 looks even more lame with a totally weird battle system. Wild arms is dying. Sad

This one is A LOT better than the original, only thing that disapointed me is that they changed the "Whisteling Intro", the one in the original was cooler.

maybe.. but then you can also store the dvd9 on your hdd, which most ppl have i think.. this is solely concerning the (burned) dvd5 rip.. it'll crash at some point 30 hours in.. let's hope some guy form a rls group reads this

Can't someone inform nforce about this problem. Maybe they can nuke it. Or the staff can check it. And then we have to wait for a new release. I am very happy that i didn't start with the game yet. But i realy feel bad for you guys. You are 30 hours in the game and then it lockups. And you have to hope that your saved game will work in the new release. If not than i think a lot of people are going to spit fire. Keep your fingers crossed Shocked Shocked Shocked .

al least other people will see what this is broken release.

And may be genius will see it to and make a new, corrected release

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this game yet? I love it and i would like to continue playing it until i´ve finished it. I would have bought it if it was available for purchase in Sweden.

wild arms 4 is alot better than this one, this game is just a cheap remake of the first wild arms on psx.
the first one was a great game back in its time, but this remake just sucks in every department,
you shouldnt waste your time on this, there are better new rpgs out like wild arms 4, dragon quest 8, in 2 weeks grandia 3, and in march shadow hearts 3 + suikoden 5 + kingdom hearts 2.
