Can anyone help me with this please? I did a restart on my PC and the motherboard gave out a VGA Error Detected message. Im not sure if its my Card or my monitor. The confusing thing is that it still sounds that its booting to windows as after the error message the motherboard says "Booting to Operating System". If it was my card would it still boot to windows? Its an asus mobo and a gainward card.. Thanks for the help

First of all, how can you see that message if the monitor doesn't work?

Do you have another monitor around that you could test?
I do not think it's you monitor, as most computers will boot even if the monitor is not plugged in. This might change if you have a broken monitor that's sending weird signals to your GFX card, but I doubt it.

If you have another computer around, try to see if you are able to ping the machine, that way you will find out if it has booted into windows.

Now, if your compute has booted into windows, then the problem can still be both the GFX and the monitor, as I've had a broken GFX card before, which did not display any picture, and it booted windows without problems.

when graphics cards go they usually go and you get no display. im assuming the error message your getting is from beep codes or leds? most likely its graphics card if the motherboard is still booting to os
