Yay! Another new Xbox game!

Sounds crap and I dont rate Cauldron as a decent developer but I have to say the screens actually look pretty good!

They also did KOTT2 and Chaser which wasnt too bad a game on the PC so who knows! Very Happy

I feel like slapping myself across the cheek with a wet kipper for even grabbing this.

Initially I got excited because I glanced over quickly and confused the game with Rogue Trooper (the game based on the 2000AD character) then I had that grim realisation that the name sounded familiar and that it was infact that mediocre looking generic FPS game that came out for PC right at the end of last year. Crying or Very sad

That was the kind of comparison that I made when looking at this game when it came out on PC, it didn't look like it was ever gonna be one to compete with the likes of Quake 4, Swat, SS2, CoD2 and FEAR infact I found myself pondering just who would buy such a pile of steaming crap in favour of the games I mentioned? Possibly the same people that bought Conspiracy:Weapons of Mass destruction and Chicago Enforcer.

I haven't even unpacked or burned this yet but my thoughts mirror those formed on the PC release and that other TDK game KotT2 that came out yesterday. I just thought whats the point in even bothering. I mean the Timesplitters and Halo Series wipe the floor with this game, get some mates round and co-op the single player campaigns. Some of the best FPS gaming out there.Very Happy

A mini review would still be cool though. Razz

@Bugulous lmao at that review of KotT2 23% hahahahha that guy really did rag on the game.

I wanted to persist with Dungeon Lords but the first few hours of the game were just too dull for me, I think I saw that there was a gold version planned so if thats the case maybe I'll get into it if they've polished the gameplay. Its still not the most appealing thought though if you have Baldurs Gate, Icewind, Nox, Planescape, Diablo and Dungeon Siege sitting on your shelves.(which I do) Smile

You know what I really got into over christmas, Super Monkeyball DX. I played the single player through to completion then every one of the mini games to death with a bunch of mates and have to say its by far one of the most addictive, most fun and best games ever made - Its classic SEGA. I put it on over Xmas with the intention being to play it for 5 mins during the installation of Hammer and Sickle.....5 hours later I stopped playing (stopped playing Monkeyball that is). Roll on a sequel for that game, pun intended. Wink

Yes I agree that Dungeon Lords was a trying game - still I really liked DW Bradley's earlier games esp. CyberMage which was just awesome. Lets hope he gets it right next time Laughing

Yeah I remember a colleague at work got the Gamecube just to play this one - fiendishly difficult later on though? Like he's rolling down a spiral & has to shoot through a door at the right moment. I must say that the *fun factor* really is evident in console games but is wholly lacking in PC titles - really glad I made the change Very Happy

Well loaded Gene Troopers to HDD & played it - 3rd person shooter sci-fi setting, grafix suck - blocky textures, no intro, bad voice-overs, feels "cheap", starts a bit like Halo - you awaken in a chamber in spaceship. You're under attack & have a few NPCs to guide you along. 1st weapon is a crappy automatic pistol. Enemies are badly rendered space lizards. An instantly forgettable title Sad

KOTT2 looks much better & has an intro at least. 3rd person view. Medieval setting. Knight character has 2 swords & a crossbow & an ability tree to upgrade. Main problem is the camera which is hard to control & non-intuitive. Fable had much better control. Good looking game but gets boring. 1 of the missions has you defend an island base from pirates & tries to mimic the Lord of the Rings games for being in a big battle, but fails.

TDK as a publisher seems to suck - on the PC none of their titles; Conan, Corvette, KOTT, MB World Racing were much good.

Thx for the mini reviews Bugulous, along with the reviews for PC around the gaming sites your opinion puts the final nail in the coffin im certainly not going to go out of my way to try these anytime soon and they can get plopped on a multi disc with some other titles if there small enough. Smile
