Any1 know a good program that can convert xvid to SVCD or VCD.
Ive tried 2 programs:
1)Aare AVI to VCD-DVD-SVCD-MPEG Converter 5.0
2)avitompeg
With one of the programs i can more or less convert all kind of movies bt the sound is not synced.
So any1 that can solve this problem with the sound or give me the name of another program that works?

Just cant get a program to work, ive tried all of them.
Either it dont work at all or the sound is lacking or its unsynced.
Im trying to convert the latest movies like After The Sunset, maybe these programs cant handle them properly.
If any1 have succeeded in converting new movies, plz let me know with what program and also how u did it exactly.

On Mainconcept version 1.4 I didnt get any sound at all, didnt matter what choices I made. I tried 6 different settings with a Family Guy xvid episode. If u know a setting that works plz let me know.
Think I got the latest codecs, I mean I can watch all new movies, but if there is a great codec out there write down the name plz.

hello dafonte, ive composed a very very basic guide on how to do XviD to VCD(MPEG1) conversion. First, you will need a copy of CCE Basic or Pro, im sure you can find one or the other somehow ... note: the XviD video im converting to MPEG1 is Shaun Of The Dead.
Once you have CCE installed run it and open the file(.avi) you are looking to convert...
Now after the file has been added, you need to right click (in the project window) on the file and select edit...
Now you will see an Encoding Setting Dialog where you can change every little detail about the output video...
The Red Dots?
Ok, ive marked the functions you need to edit...
1. Mode/MPEG1 - 1pass CBR - System
2. Framesize/Resize - for standard VCD(MPEG1) resize to 320x240 or 352x288
3. Framerate - Make sure it is set at the same rate as the source video (should do it for you automatically)
4. FileSize - Since i wanted my vcd to be the same size as the source i set it to 700,000kb or roughly 698-700mb but you can change it up anyway you like.
5. Aspect Ratio - since shaun of the dead is at a 16x9 ratio i set it as that, if the video is 4x3 then set it as that or whatever your preference
Edit: (Note: audio: 44.1 kHz @ 224 kbit/s
video: 352x240 @ 29.97 | 352x240 @ 23.976 | 352x288 @ 25, these are the VCD Standards. Make sure you use one of these profiles in the Encoding Dialog for compliancy.)
Now all you have to do is hit the Encode Now Button on the bottom left hand corner of the Encode Dialog...
This is my first guide, i dont usually convert XviD to Vcd(MPEG1) but the guy needed help. Dafonte, this worked fine for me... now all you need to do is burn it with nero or whatever you use to make vcd's. if you need any help or questions just pm me.

maybe i ask why you dug up a dead thread? hehehe
honestly...i guess he wants to watch his movie on a tv and has no xvid dvd player nor the possibility to connect his pc to the tv
jesus christ was a gangsta rapper. they killed him. he came back and made a platinum album.

well... you can delete the thread afterwards... problem is solved anyway *g*
uhm... an xvid compatible dvd player costs nothing... and saves you hours of converting and gives you way better quality... i mean... if ppl are willing to put that much effort in it to learn how to convert the movies and then convert them... why not do the best thing you can... buy an xvid player!!! or connect the pc with the tv... or buy an xbox which is the best media centre... its like copying your mp3s to tape cause you only have a tapdeck in your car... oh well...

well i guess it depends on prioritys... i for example spent 3 euros entrance fee to a club with 1 free coke or whatever free... thats all i need... other ppl spend 30 euros an eve for drinks etc... and i dont have a car cause i can get everywhere with trains and busses... but i just cant keep money... theres always some electronic shit i gotta buy... and i would rather eat dry bread and drink water than having to watch a vcd that spoils a movie for me....
