if we follow Drakes equation to the letter, there would be at least 10 thousand Intelligent races only in our galaxy, assuming that would be a aproximately right number. one question must be asked.
what do they think and what do they want? do you think they would have a similar way of thinking to humans, notions of good and evil? religion? riot among each other?
or do you think that every single notion and understanding and way of perceiving the universe would be so different from ours that our races could never begin to understand each other?

If you follow it to the letter? You mean if you insert absurdly optimistic variables.
Hopefully they will be sociologically advanced enough to be beyond the need for the comfort of religion. Otherwise they might launch some sort of bullshit crusade against us because their notion of God has been shattered by the discovery of our existance.

well, not knowing even approximations for the variables it s going to be a short discussion I wont even go into detail on how the devised variables also might be screwed in so many possible ways...

I think "they" would have at least notions of good and evil - no idea how they think; what is "thinking"?!...
but having an idea of "good" and "evil" is a basic condition for any culture - imo.

Hopefully the Planet 'Lesbian' exists somewhere. It would make a nice holiday destination.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

If there was so many other intelligent life forms out there - would that be an indication that it's almost impossible to travle to another solar system?
...or that Star Wars never will be real?!?! noooooooooo

we all know that most of the events that happen within the universe are not unique.
most of the events happen anytime, anywhere, birth of stars, collision of galaxies, supernovas, etc, some events happen more often and some events are more rare, but not unique.
so, it's fair to say the same thing about life.
what is life?
life is a "system" that will develop anywhere it finds conditions to do it
it's almost inconceivable that Earth is the only planet in the entire universe to harbour life.
life should exist everywhere in the universe, the relevant question is, if Intelligent life also exists.

yes, we qualify, but only because we use very anthropocentric definitions of intelligence. Other species have at least as evolved brains as we have (whales, dolphins, women, hahaha). And if you look at the society-level or how we act as a species worldwide we fail on so many levels. Pollution, war, more pollution, making our food more poisonous and sickening through unnecessary chemicals in it, destroying nature's resources, using atomic power while we have all the power of the sun to exploit, etc etc etc. And the funny thing is, its not getting much better

Humans FTW, all others are inferiour species.
And maybe theres life out there, who said we ever gonna find them, or they finding us, its a big universe and we (or them) might die out long before we have the technology to find anything.
I personally like the idea that we are alone, who needs aliens anyway, most likely they are just plain ugly.

You mean the same Martians with green slimy skin and an elephant snout instead of a nose?
No thank you, 5 breasts wont make up for the image of banging a green jelly with a slurf.
