go outside, get a job, buy yourself a house, buy yourself stuff to put in your house, get yourself a girlfriend, marry her, have kids...
thats sims with even better graphics, it didn't cost you a cent... AND... at the end of the day, youll actually have something tangible to show for it, not just a hollow feeling of looking at a game about a virtual life and wishing you had it...

depends how you play the game 
i personally an't stand the game, but my brother is addicted to it, he spends days cheating to have a whole lot of many and creates very stylish houses, but other than that he's not doing much in the game

yeah i guess im just one of those who dont see the appeal of the sims games (personally i think its kinda sickening to get so absorbed in a virtual 'have a life' game, but thats just me)
but to be fair, im sure many people who just LOVE the sims games, dont understand my love of blowing up aliens and zombies or driving expensive cars ill never afford, really really fast... they probably think thats a silly and sick fantasy too

video games are kind of made to escape reality (nothing beat a couple of hours of Unreal Tournament after coming home from an arguement with your boss) so i can see why people try to "live" the perfect life using the sims, although i stil think it's better to live life instead of playing it
