Nero 7 Ultra edition is probably the easiest to use ...

What do you mean by "stretch"?

are you wanting to create dvd's from xvid's or what?...
and you dont have to increase the res so it fits on your t.v., your player will do that for you.

honestly video converting / editing is so complicated that i recommand to:

1:buy the dvd
2:download the dvdr

if you want a good encoding app i'll recommand CCE

as for stetching the video, i gues you mean *changing the aspect ratio*, probably form 4:3 to 16:9 but trust me you don't wanna go there.

There are free 1-Click solutions such as TheFilmMachine and Avi2DVD which do all the encoding and authoring for you. They even supply the encoders, but you will have to provide CCE or Procoder on your own since they're share-/payware.
You can convert from PAL to NTSC or vice versa.

Both programs also give you the option to change the suggested aspect ratio to your liking - at your own risk.

TheFilmMachine

I usually encode and author my AVI's myself when I want to add menus and other fancy stuff. But if I want to make a quick-n-painless, menu-less DVD with Swedish subs for my wife, then I go with one of the two above-mentioned progz.
