|
 |
Right, i bought Half-Life 2 when it was released last year. Now i thought it would be a good idea to re-install it since Lost Coast was released a few weeks ago. The problem is that when i try to Download Lost Coast via Steam it just says "Steam Servers are Currently Busy, Try Again in a few minutes" but i´ve tried for 4 days now, same result everytime. Anyone know how to get Lost Coast?

Lost Coast has been released like 2 weeks ago. You are probably thinking of Aftermath.

i did not notice any problems in the download, did your steam got updated? The new version is completely overhauled.
Also, how about other updates (HL2 updates etc)? is it only the lost coast thats giving you problems?
it could be steam is having problems reaching to the servers maybe some firewall is blocking it or something?

Its complete crap.
Surround sound causes the map to continually crash (never had the problem with HL2, can't see why I should now since its the same engine give or take)
Missing textures on things
Buggy flooring, I had a combine soldier shoot at me from about 2 inches under ground. all I could see was the top of his head, and the flash from his gun. I had to shot gun him in that tiny bit of exposed head to kill him because he seemed immune to grenades.
and the brightness is over done. It doesn't even begin to mimmick how brightness really works IRL.

If you have PeerGuardian, disabled it because it will block Steam.
If you hate it, ignore it.

Why even bother? Just get steam-down/non-steam down. I got most of the mods from that. Its like steam, except it always works(for me) and you don't pay for anything. Its a bit slow though. But I can live with that.

It's. a. tech. demo.
As in you play it for 10 minutes to see how valve implements High Dynamic Range lighting. Nothing more.

Great now I can also play it (without HDR because my graphics card is too weak).

lol...i can't believe you guys are complaining. And I'm even more surprised there's so many here who still haven't bought HL2. Most likely due to some stupid "valve suck! hate Gabe! Steam iz ebil!". Well whatever.
Everyone knew it was a techdemo. Everyone knew it was just to show off some HDR effects in the Source engine. There's no reason to be so pissed about it. What a waste of energy.
"Why I'm so mad right now I could go play FEAR! Damn that Valve!"
i can has computar?!
