Madden 06 is freezing at the splash screen. I still have control of my mouse, but it will not finish loading. I tried the suggestions of updating my video and audio drivers as well as updating DirectX, but I am having no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it? TIA

I bought the game & wanted to mount CD1 of the CloneCD release so i could put my original cd's away. Everytime I launch the game it also freezes at the splash. I have tried DaemonTools w/ all Emu's On & also Alcohol 1.95.2802.
Any help!

I am also having this problem. Ive played the Gamecube and Xbox versions of the game and was about to buy it for PC but decided to test it instead since I never could play European Air War due to a hardware conflict (chipset or something). So i've installed it and uninstalled it and reinstalled it like 10 times and even redownloaded it but it always freezes at the loading screen. Anyone at all found a fix for this yet? Thanks for letting me know it does it in the Purchased version too. You just saved me $40 since I was just about to buy it.
My specs are as follows
WinXP
AMD 1700+ OC'd to 1600mhz
512mb Ram
ATI 9600pro 256mb
Video, Sound, and DirectX all up to date
Any help????

Have to tried to rename the music repertory ???
Under the madden installation repertory, you'll fins a "MUSIC" rep...
Just rename it to "MUSIC_TEST" for example and start madden.
I didn't have this problem using alcohol and the clone version.. but it has nothing to do with alcohol or deamon tool.. it's more a audio driver issue I think.
Keep us informed...

YOU sir are a GOD among men. I cannot thank you enough. Sure enough it finished loading right away and now I CAN PLAY!!!!
GUYS DO WHAT HE SAYS! RENAME THE MUSIC FOLDER IN THE ROOT INTSALL DIRECTORY TO WHATEVER YOU WANT AND THE GAME SHOULD RUN!
IE rename the folder "Music" to anything else.
