ok shut up everyone , i know its late but i just saw it... and mannnnnn...
ok this post has SPOILLEERRRRRSSSSSS so don't read if u haven't seen it
ok so is the movie a complete remake of the book??? did u guys hate the ending as well?? wtf? the aliens are THAT advanced to lay these machines here millions of years ago but yetthey forget to take into account the bacteria??? wtf?? and why did the aliens take blood and stuff from people???
man i hate/love movies where earth is raped by aliens but the ending SUCKED majorly... but then again i dont know what i was expecting...
also should i read the book??? and was there an older movie based on the book and should i see it...

hehe, i just watched it last week.
Its a pretty decent movie. But not1 that blow you away.
The alien[s]/machines were pretty made by the gci. Story on the other hand kinda sucked.
I havent read the book. But i have the radiomusical on LP. Which is great.

I really didnt enjoy it.
And Jeff Waynes War of the worlds is the best version.

It is a horrible movie, it doesn´t even have a story, just Action. But 11-12 year olds probably think this is the best movie ever made.

i liked it until the ending. suddently out of the blue : hey they are all dying, haha suckers they forgot about the bacteria THE END, weak weak weak ending.
and what with that red plant thing, it grows very very fast and you see the guy looking at it and thinking ow fuck these fuckers grow fast and you hear nothing else of it and then suddently also hey its dead

ummm they grow based on human blood and flesh i think... and why were the ships full of like orange water or blood... WTF was the point of this movie??? ok the aliens are dead, but shouldn't there be millions more up there learning from the mistake and coming right back to wipe us out...

its a movie based off a book..... therefore the story can only be as good as the books and nothing more.
if the book had a shit ending, so will the movie. anyways i liked the movie tbh ... good sunday afternoon flick with friends.

BTW: now I see this thread...have u guys noticed that the quality of War.Of.The.Worlds.PAL.DVDR-SCREAM is quite bad? There is movie grain (dunno if it is the right word for it) in the whole movie, it looks like VHS to me. When compared to Stealth.2005.NTSC.DVDR-TGP, War.Of.The.Worlds.PAL.DVDR-SCREAM really sucks in quality somehow.....

go to the library and get the book -- it makes much more sense than this POS movie.

The book was far better, it's great reading about the protagonist trying to survive in post invasion london.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

I liked the movie, was really good but as most of you think the ending kinda sucked. A superintelligent alien with great technology cant se a litte damn bacteria that can kill then, even we humans can se that at our technology lvl.

The problem isn't so much the ending it's how it's delivered. Hugely anticlimatic and I think the film itself lacks any substance. But you can appreciate the message, just not the way it's been told.
I thought Tom Cruise was quite good though as the shitty parent and it started out well only to fizzle into set pieces that lacked any wow factor on the small screen. When Tim Robins shows up I switched off and of course the movie is littered with Spielburg tainted moments.
Shame because it did have promise.
